This place is decent but a bit on the pricier side for what you get. There are a lot of Asian restaurants in a 10 mile radius, but this is a good addition for the area that has cheap Chinese takeout across the street. I had Pad Thai which I thought was comparable to Spice Thai cuisine in town and even a little cheaper. I had some sushi a la carte that was pretty good. My boyfriend got the chicken teriyaki, which was as good as Momoya (although they didn't give us the rice it's supposed to come with).
Basically I can't say it's any better than any place in the Bloomfield/Montclair area but it's good. The interior looks really classy and upscale. I got takeout, but it didn't take too long. Basically I can say it's good, but not great. If you in the area and someone in your group wants Thai and someone else wants Japanese, etc, this is the place for you.
Great new place in Bloomfield! Went yesterday for lunch with one of my coworkers, and we were really happy with everything. Food & service are excellent. I had a two-roll combo: tuna and Philadelphia, served with miso soup. My coworker had tuna and salmon rolls, and a salad. Everything was extremely fresh.
The place is brand new and has some very nice touches. I adore the little chopstick holders, they are too cute! Their presentations are excellent, they decorate their plates artfully.
It's great to see so many new places opening in Bloomfield, and Aki Asian House is a very nice addition.
