Bottomless sangrias! yes!
Half off your first cocktail! double yes!!
Try 3 different regions of Spain in 3 ways! Triple yes!!!
For 15.95 you have a choice of trying 3 different dishes. I picked the Basque. My favorite part was the carne asada served with pil pil fries which has their spicy ketchup and aioli sauce. The Poached egg over sausage and English muffin was also good.
Always a plus when there's a bag hanger to hook your bags on.
Service was on point where they noticed when our glasses were empty, but not too annoying where you wouldn't have multiple interruptions in your conversation
Come here for HH! $3 for white/red sangria mason jars
Came here after a quick visit to the Met. Good food, good ambiance, decent service. What more can you ask for? I will be back!
Very cute, small, and loud! But don't let that stop you from coming just be prepared. We grabbed two spots at the bar and it was great. Very friendly and attentive bartender who kept the drinks & food coming! Beer & wine only. A lot of specials that all sounded delicious. We had empanadas, toasts, and the prosciutto wrapped dates – SO GOOD. It's dark & cozy – probably only fits 20 ppl max – but a great little date spot. Prices were reasonable for the quality & portion sizes.
I came to Pil Pil for a small private party with a group of 10 people. Upon first walking into the restaurant, the branches weaved into the rafters of the ceiling and dim lights were beautiful and created a serene backdrop for the celebratory dinner we ordered.
Since we were a group, we were seated in a small private room lined with benches along the wall. A massive table stood in the middle of the room with plenty of room for food and drinks. The restaurant was tapas style, so we ordered a variety of foods to snack on. We had pitchers of sangria, a crostini, fried calamari, and fries among other things. The white sangria was sweet and delicious. The crostini had the perfect crunch and the fried calamari was delicious as well. The fries were topped with a special sauce and were OUTRAGEOUSLY good. I would have been happy munching on just that!
In regards to service, we were satisfied. Our server frequently checked in on us and brought us more dishes, cups, drinks, and food when we needed.
Worth a visit for some sweet drinks and good tapas in a room that makes you feel as if you're dining under the trees!
Such a great date night spot. The place is beautifully decorated and is so romantic. Small but intimate. Tapas dishes so you can order a lot. And a great cheese selection to pair with your wine.
Amazing ambiance, fantastic tapas and wonderful sangria and wine. Great location to meet friends or a date
Ambiance. So interesting with wood community tables, brightly lit colorful bottles the focal point in the wall behind the bar – branches twisting throughout.
Drinks. I make a great sangria and am particular : Their sangria is the perfect amount of wine and sweetness without being bitter or too sweet. A friend let me taste his Spanish red wine, and it was excellent.
Food. So many interesting tapas options. Off the menu and a board full of specials. What we had this time:
– Mac and cheese croquettes. Incredible and one of their signature tapas dishes. Crunchy croquette with delicious Mac and cheese inside. Served with an amazing sauce.
– Lamb chop with risotto. Delicious. Lamb chop was tender and cooked just right, and the accompanying risotto is absolutely incredible and my favorite of everything we had.
– Ribeye skewers and potatoes. Very good, tender, served with a mustard sauce that Is not my choice; and I was not a huge fan of the potatoes which had a bit of a tart flavor.
– Brussel sprouts served in a wine sauce. I love Brussel sprouts and they were not my favorite here. A little too much wine sauce and cooked a bit too much for my tastes.
Service. Wonderful attentive friendly service by the bartenders. Melanie in particular was great.
Highly recommend.
Cute, dark place with excellent tapas. Don't miss the patatas bravas and be sure to try the cheeses. Sangria is delicious, though seems a bit Iggy's on the wine to me… Not. Good spot if you're looking for quiet, private conversation. It's loud with lots of communal tables. You'll be elbow to elbow with the stranger next to you. Excellent service. Definitely give it a try if you are in the neighborhood!
Went here with a large group and I'm now officially an enormous fan of Pil Pil. We were in this cute back room which can probably comfortably seat about 10 people. They have happy hour specials for drinks so make sure you get there before 7 PM! For the food, it's delicious. It's tapas style and each dish ranges between maybe $7-14. I'd say to really be satisfied, you need about 3 tapas per person. I don't eat pork but my friends were raving about the dates wrapped in bacon and the fried mac and cheese with sausage. I did have the Brussels sprouts which were amazing and the fried goat cheese balls which were absolutely delicious. I also tried this steak with some type of cheese and spinach wrapped up into twists which was extremely good as well. I've tried a few tapas places in the city and this is officially my new favorite.
