  1. Best in the neighborhood. It's not as delectable as Lenny's or Absolute Bagels in Manhattan Valley… but it is definitely good.

  2. Standard bagel joint on the Upper West Side. Probably one of the better ones in that neighborhood, but not out of this world like some other places.

The service is decent. The ambience is okay. The bagels are good, but nothing to write home about. The coffee was a little weak. It feels a little bit like a cafeteria and could use some uppity charm. I think the place needs some TLC, but maybe that's part of the draw.

  3. One of the best bagels I've had in a while…
I'm so confused as to why the reviews are just mediocre.

We came Sunday morning. I think I got lucky because a basket of everything bagels had JUST come out. So mine was obviously FRESH and still warm which I was happy about. I *never* get my bagel toasted. Also, the bagel wasn't overwhelmingly coated with too many seeds and thus did not make a huge mess like most everything bagels I've tried…. And the plain cream cheese was perfect as well. I was completely pleased.

The line was very long and wrapped around the inside of the store so they must be doing something right… I'm sure many of them are regulars. And the staff! So efficient and friendly. The woman ringing everyone up was kind and welcoming. There's a decent amount of seating and the place seems clean.

They are Kosher here so no bacon but it's still an excellent bagel spot.
I would return when in the area and highly recommend!

  4. Slightly above average bagel with a ridiculous price tag. $4.75 for an everything bagel with tofu cream cheese and tomato. The bread tasted fresh, but the size and consistency were similar to that of a grocery store bagel. They have three flavors of tofu cream cheese-regular, scallion, and vegetable.

$6 minimum for cards. Grumpy, slow service. Overall a solid, satisfying choice for this area, but with so many excellent bagel shops in NYC, this place needs to step up their game.

  5. I have only been here once, and maybe I should give it a second choice because my frist experience was not great. I ordered an everything bagel with scallion cream cheese, pretty basic. The bagel was not good. It was cold, and the cream cheese was sub par and it was expensive!

The bagel was almost $5 and it was one of the most basic orders you can get. I can't imagine what adding egg/avocado/other toppings to this would do.

  6. Came here in the morning to grab a garlic bagel with scallion cream cheese and lox and it hit the spot! I thought it was big portions, so I shared half with someone! People do suggest getting the Everything Bagel, but I like garlic. So yummy especially when it was toasted.  A little on the pricey side, but nothing beats a delicious New york bagel!

  7. I like that they have a lot of cream cheese flavor spreads.  They even have an olive cream cheese spread.  I tried the walnut raisin on a cinnamon raisin bagel.  The bagel was chewy, which I have come to expect from a good city bagel.  Next time I wouldn't get the walnut raisin spread.  The spread had a lot of cinnamon in it which overwhelmed the flavor of the bagel.  The iced hazelnut coffee was pretty good.  It didn't taste like the kind in which they just add the flavor (sugar).  I prefer this type.  The line was long, but they keep it moving.  For one bagel with cream cheese, plain bagel and large iced coffee it cost $9.  Another day I got a tuna sandwich and chips and it was about $10.  They have very steep prices and the prices seem to vary each time.  I also wish they had more variety of bagels.  I'll still come here on occasion, but I'm on the hunt for a new bagel shop.

  8. The 3 stars it deserves. Maybe 2 but I'll be generous.

Food: Everything bagel w plain cream cheese. It surely is a regular bagel that you can get anywhere, maybe even better at your local bodega.  $3.50 for my bagel… pricey or decent????

Atmosphere: Out of date? Old? HOT.. temperature inside the store was too warm, didn't give that come in and stay vibe.

Return chance: If I'm in the area, I won't return.  If I'm in the area and I'm really craving a bagel, I'll travel to find better bagels.
