Man. Yesterday was my 3rd or 4th time at Resorts Casino. I always have a good time here and I've never left without at least being $50 richer (that's because I know when to stop, lol). But the food selection here is a complete WASTELAND. Prices here are RIDICULOUS. $7 FOR A SLICE OF PIZZA?! $8 for a 6 inch sandwich from SUBWAY?! and my personal favorite (my face was probably priceless) $11 FOR A MODEST BOWL OF WON TON SOUP THAT IS FAST FOOD CHINESE STYLE?!
Yeah, umm no thanks. Unfortunately gambling can work up an appetite and when you're surrounded by a large parking lot and not a lot of food varieties then you need to make due. Resorts Casino knows this and clearly it shows.
Le sigh.
This Queens Burger thing in their food court is the best deal for your buck. Still stupid expensive for what it is. I mean, $9 for a cheeseburger sans fries or drink?! This isn't even a fancy pants burger, it's a tiny beef patty with a moderately decent bun – at least it has all the fixins' as far as tomato, onion, lettuce and a pickle are concerned…I don't even like that crap. It's a cheeseburger – the CHEESE and the BURGER should speak for itself. It's not a bad burger though, definitely had worse, however it's not exactly a $9 burger either.
This was my second time at Queens Burger, it was formerly called, "Burger Express". Whatevs. Decided to go for their grilled chicken sandwich yesterday, doesn't come with cheese – cheese is $2.50 extra. That's pretty ridiculous, think about what $2.50 would get you in a deli or bodega? Pretty sure it would be more than 1 or 2 slices of thinly cut cheese.
Back to the chicken sandwich…it was okay. Just okay. It hit the spot and sure it was dry but pretty well seasoned and when I drowned it in Red Devil hot sauce it was faaaaaaantastic. My mom opted for their turkey burger and said it was also bland…she normally likes bland because that way it won't give her heartburn, acid reflux or whatever it is some people get…so if she said it was bland, then it must have tasted like newspaper. My sis got the cheeseburger this time around and she gobbled it up because she was hungry and stuffed her face with french fries…which look like McDonald's quality…but MickeyD's are probably better – heh.
Bottled water will run you $4, bottled juices will run you $7 and the best beverage deals are their fountain sodas which go for $3 for a 16 oz. and $3.50 for a 21 oz. Bloomberg would be thrilled because they don't offer bigger sizes, lol. That's A-Ok with me, I don't need more than about 10 oz. to wash down most meals and I don't drink soda…thank goodness they also have lemonade in their fountain machine thing.
