Ivan Ramen
“Ramen wise I chose to go with the Triple Pork Triple Garlic Mazemen, which was ah-ma-zingly tasty.”
“The chewy, springy whole wheat noodles were even better than I remembered from the excellent bowls at Slurp Shop.”
“The other stars of the night were the hot roast pork musubi (with tomato, roast pork, and seaweed magic) and the lemonade drink.”

Their triple pork triple garlic Mazemen was really good, but I wasn't ok with the price. Especially for the quantity I got.
If it wasn't $20+ for their regular size Mazemen, I probably would of went back for more of those noodles with pork, it wasn't bad at all. But judging by the price tag I expected more in quantity and quality.
Oh, before I forget, the service was very pretentious, and snooty.
So sorry Ivan, maybe you were cool way back when, and even won some things in Japan, but that wave of fame you are trying to ride is long gone.
I came here to meet up with a college friend. The happy hour deals are awesome, and the food is well worth the visit. There are other ramen places around, but this has a great feel to it with hip seating and friendly staff. It's not pretentious like some of the places in LA and Chicago I've tried. It's small, but the seating is generous and you won't feel squished like typical NYC restaurants.
There are options for all your friends from purist meat hound to vegan spice master. The soup is solid and the noodles have great texture. Plan to shell out 15-30 bucks here. This would be good for meeting with good friends or a long term significant other, but by virtue of noodles, avoid it for dates unless you are prepared to get splashed.
Went here to get in some ramen and noms… Heard about this place from multiple people but I can't say I was a tiny disappointed. The Tsukeman was ok, the apps were so so. I had the Chinese vegetables which were a tiny too cold for my taste. The furukake ribs were so dry 🙁 I wish they moisten up the ribs just a bit… They definitely overcooked those…
The wings weren't bad but the sauce is what really saved the wings…. Not so much the meat itself. Not sure if I would come back here to be honest…. Not my first choice for ramen in the city.
Solid 3 star review + 0.5 stars for service however I've decided to rate it 3/5 because I don't think this is a place that you necessarily need to stop at if you're just visiting NY.
My friend and I were around the area so we decided to stop at Ivan ramen for a quick bite before heading to boba guys next door for tea. The service was great, they kept out water glasses full and were very friendly.
The ramen itself was decent, I enjoyed the broth (tried both the shoyu + shio) and the chasu was tender. The egg was the star of the show for me, marinated to perfection with a runny center. However the reason for the mediocre review is the noodle texture. The noodles reminded me of wonton noodles more than anything and I prefer my noodles more chewy with good body (if that makes sense).
Overall if you're in the area it's a good place to stop by and get a bite, however I wouldn't go out of my way to come here. Price is kinda steep for what it is… ($15 for one bowl of ramen) but it's tasty if anything.
Great outdoor seating patio. We came here for brunch and it was not busy. I love that you can make opentable reservations. Just a note: if you have a party bigger than 6 they want to serve you off a pre fixe menu instead of being able to order a la carte. We came for boozy brunch with unlimited drinks so we wanted to order a la carte. The drinks were absolutely delicious! All of them were good so you can't go wrong. I got their brunch ramen and it was delicious. The brunch congee is also good as well.
Hearing all the rave about this ramen shop, I decided to give it a try.
The ramen didn't meet my expectations though, but one of their specials did. I believe it was mushrooms, yet it tasted like oysters but it was really good. The dish is shown in the picture posted.
Met up with some friends who are visiting the city and decided to check this place out. Ive read that this is one of the ramen places in the city to try.
We were a group of 5 and they were super accommodating and the service was great.
I ordered the miso tonkotsu tsukemen which is basically chilled ramen with pork belly and a dipping sauce on the side. the noodles came with a GIANT bed of green onions which i promptly gave my friend all of my green onions. the noodles and the dipping sauce tasted really good. the sauce wasn't too salty which is critical. the pork belly was cooked well and was tender and kind of melts in the mouth. although the dish was good all around i don't think it meets the 18$ price point. i wasn't mind blown and wasn't completely full after.
my friends tried the veggie ramen and the spicy ramen dish and both enjoyed it but not something they will come back for since there are so many ramen options in the city.
overall this place is okay if you're in the area and want some ramen but nothing amazing that makes it worth the trip to the lower east side for.

I wanted to like this place much more than I actually did. We were able to get same day reservations and got seated with no issue. The roast pork musubi was served open faced, and absolutely delicious. The ramen was quite disappointing. I think the spice overtook the entire dish. All the texture of the noodles, the pork, and the egg all ended up being all mushed together.
I will say as a saving grace that the service was excellent.
