  1. I stopped by the Williston for lunch while on a customer call.
It seems to be one of the better diners in the area.  The design of the exterior is eye catching and the inside attractive with lots of of visible marble.

I ordered the french onion soup which was EXTREMELY GOOD.  I love French Onion.  A garlic bread and onion where embedded with in the soup and a thick charred layer of provolone sealed the soup! YUM!

I ordered the special which was Lamb stew.  It was pretty good.  The stew had potatoes, carrots, peas and mutton.  The stew was green and kinda resembled pea soup.  It was large, hot and filling.

  2. It's a diner. Nothing super special so don't expect high class gourmet food.

Anyway it's worth noting the ridiculous amount of food you get here. I ordered the silver dollar pancakes and I think I got like 12 pancakes. The picture I posted was after I had eaten for like 15 minutes….

The bacon here is good. They're not super crispy but the flavor is nice and salty.

Decaf coffee just tastes like standard diner coffee!

  3. The hostess sat us in a booth, where the sun was glaring.  My husband had to pull the shade down from another booth area.  The waitress just glared at him.  My breakfast portion of two eggs and home fries was very measly and small.  Meanwhile another waitress behind us took an order from customers and asked them if they wanted a lot of home fries.  I don't even think they used half-and-half in the eggs.  Our waitress was not rude but was not friendly either.  We ended up here because the IHOP parking lot was full . Will not be coming back here again.

  4. My go-to place! I don't just come here for diner food but for breakfast, lunch, and dinner! Amazing homemade pastries and the portions are HUGE no matter what meal you get. Service is sometimes UN-attentive once you receive your food especially during breakfast. Takes me a few times to ask for a refill of coffee. Great Greek diner and a great place for a lot of food for a great price

  5. They serve your typical diner fare so there's not much to note about that, but I've found consistently that their breakfast food tasted better during peak hours than going around 1-3pm. Strange huh? Bacon is always cooked right and not burnt. Waffles are crispy and omelettes aren't dry. We find their breakfast food tasted much better than the lunch menu items like sandwiches and burgers. Prices aren't bad at all for a place on LI (coming from Queens here..). Will definitely be back since I don't live too far!

  6. Stopped for lunch yesterday at around 3 which must have been an off hour as only a couple of tables were occupied. Its been awhile since dining here and we remembered the food was good. We ordered a Bullseye Burger Deluxe med rare and a Turkey Burger with salad substitution for french fries. The coffee and iced tea we had were fine and so was the little chickpea placed on the table gratis.
    The good:
The burgers were great, nice and juicy, particularily the beef burger with egg over easy.
    The bad:
The accompanying onion rings were hard as a rock and were replaced.
The cole slaw given to each of us was pure cabbage with no sauce…very dry

Neither of these negative things was a deal breaker but next time we visit will be at either a peak bkfst, lunch or dinner time because thats when the 1st string kitchen staff is at work.

  7. Really enjoyed the food here.

Began with a complimentary saucer of chickpea salad. Great way to get an appetite going.

My friend ordered a twin burger deluxe. According to him, it was cooked just as ordered, there was generous amount of  cheese in each burger, the fries were very crispy, and the onion rings were delicious. Looked great from my end as well.

I ordered the chicken salad triple-decker sandwich deluxe on rye. I loved the taste of the chicken salad, there was a generous heaping pile of bacon, and it was stacked high all in all. As mentioned in my other reviews, I'm a big fan of big food, so it was a great match for me.

Both dishes came with coleslaw and pickles which were both very fresh and great as an additional side.

The waitstaff was really nice, checked up on us just enough, and gave us a stack of napkins which was very appreciated.

Prices are reasonable, staff is nice, the food is pretty fresh and just how you want it, and I would definitely come back.

  8. I wish I could say more about the Town House diner but my only meals there have been eggs, in one variation or another.

You walk into a very modern diner with lots of window walls so it very bright.  The various hosts and hostess' have alway been extremely personable and very welcoming.  One thing about the Town House diner is that so many of their clientele are regulars and you can see just how comfortable everyone is there with the servers.

I ordered eggs and I will say that if you can bring me my standard eggs over easy with well done corned beef hash and it comes out 'like that' and hot you've scored all the points you can here.

The waiters and waitresses have always been extremely personable, friendly, and glad to be helping you.  They keep an eye out for the coffee refill and removal of any unnecessary dishes.

The owners have spent a fair amount of money sprucing up the place and it always looks modern and clean with very shiny lines.

The parking tends to get a little tight but I am always able to find street parking either in the front on Hillside Ave or on the surrounding streets.

I will definitely pay them another visit perhaps dinner so I can experience some of their specials.  In the meantime, I'll enjoy my eggs.
