  1. Stony's is a great neighborhood place. Fish tacos are yummy and are perfect with a side of sweet potato fries.  The patio is a very chill place to sit and eat on a mild evening (when you can get a table…that's the sign of a good eatery, i suppose!) byob and enjoy live music during the "peak season".  Fast service and friendly staff!  Hope you enjoy it, too!

  2. We've been coming here for over a year and I felt it was time to write an update as we've experienced more meals here. It's really tough to say. I wish I could give this place 3-1/2 stars but without that ability I'm rounding down for many reasons. The food is ok. Their breakfast options are great, but the lunch and dinner options are really hit or miss. There doesn't seem to be much consistency on the grill which hurts. The big pro's though are the outdoor patio seating in the rear (nice and peaceful…when they're not blasting music) and the fact that its BYOB. It's about mid-range when it comes to price depending on what item you choose. Now for the cons….the inside seating is cramped, old and the place just has that greasy spoon feeling (right on down to the greasy tables). The staff is a bit rude from time to time and if you have any questions about the menu they're not that eager to answer them. All in all its a decent place. We'll definitely be back for breakfast on the weekends and that odd meal here and there during the summer when you get the chance to sit out back. It's not the best place in the area but also its very far from the worst. I'd recommend stopping in for a basic meal.

  3. Good little burger joint right in the heart of town. Burgers were cooked correctly and to the correct temperature. They have crinkle fries which are awesome. The staff could be a little more attentive and with it period plus they're ordering system seems to be a little off.

  4. I really enjoy Stony's especially on Wednesdays when it's buy 1 get 1 free for Seton Hall students – I get 2 sandwiches for like $7 or something. Their menu is always expanding and it's nice that there's a casual place around South Orange where you can sit outside. I believe they even have live music sometimes.
My usual is the Stony's Marinated Chicken Sandwich with the red onion & Japanese mayo (except I order it with no pineapple or tomato). I also get Sweet Potato Fries. They may have changed them up recently, as usually they are kinda soft and mushy, but last time I had them they were really crispy… even somewhat on the burnt side. … I don't care because I love sweet potato fries either way and not many places around S.O. offer them.
I've always wanted to try their seafood, and since my last visit I've put the milkshakes on my 'To Try' list as well.

  5. Went here for lunch today and got the double bomber, bacon cheese burger and I must say it was quite good. But it had some minor issues. I don't care for those giant buns where you're getting more bread than meat, not to mention if you have loads of other toppings on there. Also the bacon could've been a little more done. Other than that the burger had a nice grilled flavor and was hot when I unwrapped it. They are generous with the small fries order I got. Speaking of generous, they gave plenty of napkins and ketchup which is very nice.

Since I got take out I can't say too much about the actual place but it seems nice, decent seating as well as outdoor seating. I'd say this is on par with five guys. Five guys has the unlimited refill drinks but I'd like to try the varied menu here beyond their burger which was A-OK.
