Once in a whole I drop by this McDonald's as it is right by the subways station and close by my work place. The food here is on par with all other McDonald's. Service is especially quick in the mornings. The cashiers are pretty efficient. As with other McDonald's I never know where to stand to wait for my food after I order as there is no designated waiting area. So I usually pick the cashier on the far left or right. FYI, the ice cream machine is on the right side, so order on the right side to make sure you get your ice cream cone or sundae right away.
I know, I know… Reviewing a McDonald's in NYC is hardly worth my time. But given I've actually had good experiences at some of these establishments in the city (and that there are a ridiculous amount of them to choose from… kinda like Dunkin Donuts in RI and Southeastern MA) I figured it best to steer Yelper's to the one's worth stepping foot in. This is not one of those places.
Having not yet settled into the groove of things on a weekend New Years trip to the city, the bf and I chose to head to the nearest McDonald's for some easily acquired Egg McMuffins and breakfast bagel sandwiches. As a somewhat fan of the breakfast selections at this fast food chain, I was sorely disappointed in what I received. Ordering was a fiasco. In the early hours, this place had already run out of hash browns. Not wanting the salad… yes salad… they were offering in its place at 10 am, I ended up simply with a sandwich and orange juice. Bringing it back to our hotel room, as most of the seating was either occupied or in horrendous condition, I sourly made my way through the lukewarm pile of bagel, egg, and bacon. I lazily ate while watching the bf struggle through the rock hard english muffins comprising his Egg McMuffin.
Save yourself the hassle and find another location or business to get your breakfast from in this area. With the prices here, you really aren't saving yourself that much money by stopping in…
This location is close to my job so I come here every so often. The lines move quickly but as always — the order line is so confusing. The personnel can sometimes be quite rude and ignore you and continue talking to their fellow coworkers. When they do get around to doing their job, they are quick. The buttermilk chicken here tastes better than the one on 6th avenue.
Recently renovated, clean tables, and standard food makes this a decent McD's. Its located on Broadway and 40th St and has two levels. Nothing really stellar to report, but also nothing terribly amiss either. 3 Stars.
The only reason I am writing a review for McDonald's is because THIS IS THE WORST MCDONALD'S EVER; alas for my desperate, no-time-for-lunch $1.51 order of [cold] small fries that took 10 minutes and was served by the sourest-ass scowl this side of fast food
