I was visiting a friend who lives nearby, when we had a sudden craving for wings and beer. I was expecting this place to be your typical sports bar, but I was surprised by how large the space is! I think the dozens of tv screens they have on the far wall in the dining area is overkill, but whatever floats your boat. I can imagine this place getting really packed on certain game nights, as well as hosting private parties and events. Their selection of brews is pretty good, and the wings come in so many flavors! The chipotle is crazy spicy, so DO NOT attempt unless your taste buds are made of steel. I couldn't even finish my first one, but my boyfriend was glad to devour the rest of them. My personal favorite is the garlic parmesan.
My complaints: 1) They're a bit overpriced. But I suppose that's inevitable given that there are few other options in the immediate area. 2) The wings weren't crispy enough, and the ones at the bottom of the baskets were wayyy too oily for consumption. 3) They don't give you enough blue cheese. 4) Their curly fries were undercooked. 5) Our waitress was basically invisible for most of our stay. 6) Their busboys will have no shame undressing women with their eyes. I was *incredibly* uncomfortable.
This place is good competition to Candlelight. It's got good food with an old school feel. The service is ehh sometimes there and sometimes not, but when they do serve you, they are with smiles.
The food quantity and quality is great. It's good ol bar/comfort food. Great wings, burgers, pulled pork, fried mac&cheese balls, EVERYTHING is good, but an artery clogger. You will leave here with a food coma, so be warned.
The place is spacious with an abundant amount of TVs. I do appreciate the parking lot, and it's never as crowded as Candlelight, and they accept credit cards. Cha-ching. This place is def worth a visit.
I especially love the old school music that they play. It brings back memories. Very nostalgic.
I basically just found this place. I've seen it for a while on my jaunts up and down Central Ave, but hadn't stopped in. Finally, I was in the mood to change that and boy am I glad. I have now been here about 4 times in the last month.
First off, it's pretty large. The bar is a good size, but there is also more than enough tables. They have a good number of tvs for all of your sporting needs, as well as those speaker boxes that allow you to listen to any of the games. The bartenders are great, the beer selection is pretty good and the food is amazing.
The wings here are top notch. Easily the best in the area. They have a ton of flavors too, not just hot either. The bourbon are really tasty, the hot blue cheese are nice with a bit of a kick, my favorite are the Maryland Bay ones, which have bay seasoning. Hell, I even tried the PB&J wings. Yeah peanut butter and jelly. I liked them, they tasted more peanutty (I guess I made a word up) than anything, different, but good.
I've had a few different things here as well. The burgers are good, big and filling. The sliders are great. I recommend the pulled pork ones. The buffalo chicken are good, but if you are going wings as well, it's a lot of chicken. They also do really great things with the fries. Try the loaded fries they are amazing.
Can't wait to go back, maybe tomorrow!
