  1. Worst dining experience in a while… After waiting to be seated for 30 minutes, my friend and I were crammed at a very low rickety table next to the register where people line up to get coffee. We sat hunched over on a couple stools where we spent what felt like ages.

The waitress promptly took our order, but the food didn't come for 50 minutes. So we sat for 50 minutes getting bumped by the few waitresses working and anyone who came in to get a coffee to go… The waitress came back to fill our thimble sized water glasses a few times, but didn't speak of our food until we asked her where it was about 30 minutes later, to which she responded that she'd check on it. When our food finally arrived, the waitress that delivered it could barely fit our plates on the tiny table and even commented on "how stupid" the tiny table was.

I could tell we weren't the only ones frustrated by the lack of service, the table next to us had to stand up and go to the counter to ask someone for a side of butter for their toast since they couldn't flag anyone down. Don't get me wrong, the waitress was friendly- but she was too busy or just too embarrassed to apologize about our late food.

The atmosphere is small and decorated adorably, but is very very loud. The food? Excellent. I had the green baked eggs which were really unique and my friend had the avocado toast. Each of our entrees was $13 which felt right for my green baked eggs, but seemed a little outrageous for avo toast.

Overall, I don't plan on returning and recommend scouting out another cafe to fulfill your brunching needs!

  2. Exactly what west village needs another place to spend $20 on a sandwich and a coffee with rude, unapologetic staff.
    (Note: that was sarcasm)

Came here to try it out because I work in the neighborhood, ordered a turkey sandwich which was like 14 dollars or something. Definitely not worth it, it was so small and just not that good. Nothing memorable, it was like a sandwich some mom packed in a lunchbox for their child. Poorly executed.

Had an iced mocha it was alright.

Service….there was none, just a rude counter person who clearly hates working there.

It's a cute little place and the coffee is ok but would never got back. At least I gave it a try.

  3. So happy this place opened near the NYU campus!  Like its other locations, it's brightly lit with natural light and has that chilled vibe to it.  The only reason I took one star off is because the service I got from the server wasn't the best when I went, but other than that food was good and consistent with its other branches!  Got the avocado toast ($12) and added a poached egg (+$3), so as you can see it's pricier than the other avocado toasts around the city.  But the portion is really big compared to them as well, so nothing unreasonable!

  4. This was one of the best cappuccino's I've had, and I've been a coffee drinker fro a long time! It was a chilly day, and I really needed an afternoon cup. I went in a few minutes before they were closing, and they were more than willing to make my coffee even though they were starting to close up shop. The foam was so delicious and the coffee smooth and not at all bitter. And to top it off, the barista made such a cute design! The cafe itself is also very pretty — definitely a place where I'd sit down for a cup next time!

  5. **Originally incorrectly posted this review under the Greenwich location. Reposting to the correct location. Was reached out by the owner but he never followed up since our original exchange.**

The staffs at this location were the least helpful and least friendliest of all cafes I'd been to in the city. I know it's usually a sit down for this location but didn't justified being ignored by the ordering station for 15 minutes. Even after being acknowledged and told by a barista that she would be with me soon, it took another 10 minutes for her to finally finish tidying the mini bar/fridge? Then I had to say excuse me again for her to reappear and finally took my order.

I ended up ordering their matcha latte and it took another 15 minutes for my order to be made. I honestly thought they had to ground down some fresh matcha powder to make my drink. When I asked for my receipt, I noticed the barista had incorrectly entered my order .. When I asked for a new receipt with the correct order and amount – she looked at me as if I was crazy to have asked for a receipt to begin with and I should have appreciated that she even printed me one. She told me she had to finish making other drinks first before coming back to figure things out. She went on to make her drinks.. Then disappeared.. Again. Another 15 mins – I had to fetch for her and she seemed so surprised that I was still there.  Worst customer service ever..

Didn't think getting a drink to go would had taken longer than a sit down dinner. And the drink was so not worth it. The smallest cup (8oz) – flavorless, overpriced. Waste of my life, waste of my money. Never again.

  6. Yoooooooooo now thats-a good-a cuppa coffee, ehiiiiii

Do you like my Australian accent? Well get ready to say "konnichiwa," Bluestone Lane will bring the Aussie out in you. And boy howdy, do they have solid ass coffee here. I have to admit I miss the crazy copper interior that Maza (the previous tenant) had, but Bluestone Lane at least renovated to another nice alternative- this place is brighter white than the cliffs of Dover, and much more spacious than Maza ever was. They also serve brunchy food I've yet to try but seemed well priced and edible.

Go right up to that counter and be like "yo quiero il café" and they'll be all like "bien sûr" and serve you the frothiest, nicest lil nugget of $4 liquid gold. (Yeah, it's $4 for what amounts to a dixie cup size of coffee, but at least the caffeine levels are high and the quality is higher.) The flat white is of course the go-to in a place like this, and while I honestly can't tell you what the difference is between a flat white, a cappucino and a latte, I can tell you it tastes, as the Australians say, "rayie" (wonderful). I've had the soy flat white and I can confirm it's just as creamy and heavenly- lactose intolerant and vegans take notice.

So get on down to Bluestone Lane and give them a big ol' Australian "howdy y'all" from yours truly.
