  1. Just stopped by for a small breakfast as I was still stuffed from Dinner the night before but tried the egg and cheese bomb and got an espresso.

Egg and Cheese bomb was average and nothing noteworthy and the espresso wasn't that great.  Kind of tart and not one of the better ones I've had.   Maybe I'll stop by again one day for the sweet stuff here.

  2. So this place needs better signs. We walked by like three times. Google had to hold our hand for us to find it. We had the cereal milk soft serve with corn flake crunch…oh boy was that amazing. I'm upset I couldn't eat more.

  3. Thank you Momofuku for having a location on the UWS that is absolutely not crowded, especially on a Saturday night.  There was tons of seating and the staff was so friendly.

I had to try to cereal milk ice cream ($6 + toppings are extra) and a cup is more than enough. Certainly, the flavor takes some time to acquire, but if you've grown up slurping the bottom of your bowl of milk after finishing the cereal, you'll definitely enjoy the cereal milk ice cream because it tastes like corn flake soaked milk.  We also had the chocolate covered pretzel milkshake ($8), which wasn't really too great.  That we definitely couldn't acquire the taste as it just tasted like a chocolate milkshake with a ton of salt poured into it.  And yes, I mean a ton of salt that it didn't even taste like a chocolate covered pretzel anymore.

Overall, would come back for the ice cream, maybe skip the milkshake next time.

  4. We heard good things and this was definitely a stop we wanted to make on our way back from the Met on our NYC trip. We didn't have to wait too long in line, and the inside of the store has lots of stuff to look at. I could make zero decisions and wanted everything but also knew I couldn't eat any perishable items at the moment, so I got a couple of the cookies (corn, blueberry and cream, confetti), a slice of the crack pie, and the egg and cheddar bomb. The cookies I ate after getting back from the trip and they were okay, quality was really good but nothing particularly stood out. The crack pie was delicious but oh my god it was so sugary (like I'm aware this is a dessert area but wow), and I also tried my friend's b'day truffles which again were SO SWEET but really good. The egg and cheddar bomb was basically a delicious cheesy eggy stuffed bagel so it was obviously delicious. I would come back here mostly because I didn't get to try the cereal milk soft serve, but the other things I could probably live without. Still really well made though!

  5. Let's face it, just as if you were shopping at Tiffany, you are paying for the name associated with these. Christina Tosi. That being said, the cakes we ordered for my daughter's birthday were delicious. LOVE their cookies too! Especially the blueberry cream! Good selection that you can order online ahead of time. Friendly and helpful staff as well. No complaints.

  6. I think that while Momofuku is a nice change of pace from the usual frozen yogurt joint, it's not necessarily worth the high price point.  Maybe it's the price point (be then again, maybe all frozen yogurt places in New York are expensive) or maybe it was just the hype, but while Momofuku left me feeling fairly satisfied, it didn't wow my like I thought it would.

The cereal milk ice cream was decent, but oddly… not "refreshing"?  Perhaps it was the slightly saltiness to it, but it just didn't feel like a complete product to me.  Maybe it would go well as a small after-dinner dessert, but by itself it fell a little flat.

  7. I always try to visit MILK when I'm in NYC, such an awesome concept to use cereal milk for soft serve, also the crack pie is like an unhealthy version of a pecan pie to me; like taking a bite of butter but in a very good way.

  8. Momofuku Milkbars are always solid and this one is no different. All Milkbars are like a 3 1/2 because the stuff is pretty standard fare at this point, but this one definitely deserves to be rounded up because, for the area, it is amazing.

    Protips:

    1) Always get the limited edition ice cream. Even if the flavor looks like it sucks big time these are always cleverly made and are often passed over by newbies in favor of the slightly inferior pies/cookies. (Note: Cereal Milk is NOT good in my opinion, at any MMB)

    2) Corn Cookie is the best cookie.

    3) See if they have limited edition bagel bombs or croissants. For instance, the thanksgiving croissant they have here around November is honestly one of the best thanksgiving-related foodstuffs in all of NYC. Google it.

    4) See if they have limited edition cookies.  Christina Tosi is like a cookbook factory at this point, and they often carry limited edition cookies based on the recipes from these.

    Have fun people.
