  1. This place is a trip.

Enough parking to accommodate the entire bar.  The average drinks and tunes still make it a good time.  Some fun activities to do while just loitering around with your cheap drinks.

A little out of the way, which I guess is good to keep the neighborhood from complaining.

  2. This place was so much fun. I came here (pre 21) to check out the scene, and loved ever second of it. Before officially opening for the night, they take time to teach you a line dance so you can dance a long with everyone else throughout the night. Love the western theme and the staff is really friendly. I rode a mechanical bull for the first time and the guy running it was so nice and helpful in terms of helping me stay on. Good times here though.

  3. Love this place! The line dancing lessons and nights are awesome. The mechanical bull is great, as is the guy who runs it. The bartender I was talking with seemed a little harsh, but I love coming here.

  4. I took me 23 years, but I've finally found a bar with a mechanical bull!  (Ok maybe I've only been going to bars for 3 years…)

Actually a lot was offered at Colorado Cafe.  There was the bull, country line dancing, a live band, pool tables, and a bunch of sports games were on.  The bar is large enough that neither activity really detracts from the other.

While I loved the atmosphere, beer selection was limited and fairly expensive.  I'm sorry, but $4.50 for a Bud Light is ridiculous.  That aside, this place was a great hangout spot and the large areas of parking was appreciated.

Unfortunately, I didn't try any food so I'll have to amend this review if I come back in the future.

If you ever want to go line dancing, I'll take you to the Colorado Cafe!

  5. This is one of my little brother's favorites. All he needs is a pool table and a burger, and it being so close to my family's house they make a stop here every so often. The parents get the hot wings, sister grabs the mozzarella sticks and fries. And every time I tag along I'm at a loss. Basic bar food is what they do well, but that's really it. Not overly impressed with the kitchen.

Then again that isn't really what they are known for. This place may start as a restaurant on one side, but as the night goes on the whole place opens up and it's a full on country honky tonk. Or as close as New Jersey is going to get. If you are new to the whole scene, have no fear, you can take line dancing classes.

  6. Hadn't been there many years, but a dear friend dragged me there to see a particular band. Cover charge 10 bucks a head also need ur license in hand as they scan it. Okay somewhat understandable. Huge space for line dancing and such. Next room when u can navigate thru. The bumper to bumper people has a mechanical bull which I dared not seek out even tho my mind was saying yes yes you can n my body was saying ugh don't u remember last time..well 10 bucks a throw lol. Another room has booths and tables and the standard pool tables. An odd shaped rectangle shaped bar some bar stools around.  Tons of staff bouncers.  A small limited bar menu along with a couple of beers on tap nothing to write home bout. The bar also has a small stage attached to it where bands play and patrons get on bar and dance around along with band members. Was hungry so grabbed a cheese burger no fries actually a darn good burger chased it with couple of beers. Friends food looked delish too. The band "guy smiley" yeah I know but don't let name fool ya they were, actually decent lead singer was easy on the eyes also. Was caught off guard as they played rock n such was expecting country hence country western bar but call me old fashioned expected country music..kinda disappointing. ALOT has changed since i was there last but guess u gotta give the people what they want. The place is jamming crowded on Saturday night so be prepared..

  7. Great dancing if you like country music and the bands are awesome. Frequent bands include The Nerds, Amish Outlaws and Big Orange Cone as well as my personal favorite Hoi Polloi.

Don't plan on using fake ID – they will have you arrested. Also, don't plan on leaving tipsy as the local Watchung PD posts a car there to corral in end of the night shenanigans.

Ladies night is Weds. and there's often a bevy of young divorcees looking for a rodeo. Make sure you wear your cowboy hat!

Bartenders and bouncers have been there forever, good staff. Great bar but the food is nothing to write home about.

  8. Colorado Café is a really fun place to go out with your girlfriends!  One of my friends had her birthday there and we had a blast! Great DJ and there is a mechanical bull and we went when it was karaoke night!  It was a lot of fun!!
