  1. collective opinion: "it's okay, but there are plenty of other places that make better breakfast."

    dishes order: jimmy's special (2 pancakes, eggs, bacon, sausage, home fries);
the lumber jack (3 giant slices of french toast, ham, sausage, and bacon, and eggs); custom dish of poached eggs on wheat toast and home fries.

    positives:
    – good portions.
    – crispy bacon was good.

    negatives:
    – no one was impressed with the home fries – my fiance called it a smashed potato as only the outer surface area was crispy, with no flavor.
    – the poached eggs weren't done correctly.

    neutral/mixed:
    – pancakes were inconsistent sizes, not heavy but not anything great.
    – my fiance thought the french toast wasn't bad; i personally found it a little mushy… to each their own =]

    decent service overall.

  2. Lunch here today after some business in the area.  It was about 1:30 in the afternoon and it looked like the lunch crowd had left.

First, although it's a Diner, it's nice to be greater by a man in a suit. Just a nice touch.

So I ordered the Mediterranean Panini. That grilled chicken with sun dried tomatoes, mozzarella cheese and a pesto sauce. FANTASTIC. Food came out quickly with a side of French fries, Cole slaw and a pickle. With a drink give whole meal cost just $13.00.

I'm not in that area often but if you are I'll guarantee that you'll be pleased.

But here's the most important question. How do Diners do it. Large, I mean really large portions, and low prices. It's hard to comprehend. Some 5 Star restaurants give you less than half the food and charge ridiculous prices, and most of them fail. Diners just keep on chugging along.

Well if you know the secret please let me get n on it.  Anyway stop in here if you want a good meal.

  3. I'm very hard on diners because I grew in NJ and Diners are part of our culture.  This one is pretty ordinary.  It's very clean, the service is good, the food is cooked the way you expect.  However, I do have to admit that I like their matzo-ball soup.  They add in some shredded chicken and they use broth instead of just water.

This place is clean and very quintessential NJ Diner look and feel. It's conveniently located.  You can't go wrong with eating here.

  4. I have been here many times since they opened and have always had a good meal and an extremely reasonable price with excellent service.  The other night I had a bagel with lox and cream cheese with the lox piled very high.  I have also had some really good salads and sandwiches here.

Naturally the have a full diner menu so there is something for everyone.  The parking lot is very large.  The place appears to be very clean and is very well lit.

It really is a big improvement over the diner that was previously here.

  5. After a very long four days of field hockey camp my daughter woke up in the car RAVENOUS and I was ordered to pull into the Landmark Diner. We were seated immediately and the waitress was on us quickly for drink orders. Two iced teas and a chocolate shake for my daughter.

It was a simple lunch-my daughter ordered onion soup, scrambled eggs, hash browns and white toast (her staple meal); my wife got the Mediterranean Panini; and I got the Chipotle Chicken Wrap.

The food was fine-typical Jersey Diner fare, but nothing to make me get up and scream about how great the place was.  My daughter's onion soup had some great flavor to it and her eggs and hash browns were fine, though there were onions and peppers in the hash browns that she picked out.  The Grilled Chipotle wrap was pretty tasty, but the mayo or sauce they used made this a bit sloppy-made it tough to eat. Finally, the mediterranean panini was just ok…a bit bland, but after adding a little salt and pepper my wife seemed ok with it.

    In a pinch, I'd eat here again…

  6. I give this place a solid 3.5 stars, but I rounded up because of all the positive experiences I've had there. This is probably the third time I've been there so far. My bf and I first came here because we were looking for a diner close to us. Le Peep has a special place in out hearts, but their food portions are way too big and we don't always want to consume a full day's calories in just one meal. We thought about giving this place a try. I had not yelped this place beforehand (something I usually do), so we were going in blind.

The service waa good. She was nice to us, very polite and always smiling. It was nothing spectacular though. As for the food, I got the Waldorf Chicken Salad Sandwich. If you read some of my other reviews, you probably know how much I love chicken salad. Anyway, it was really delicious and fresh. Everything about that sandwich was on point. I wasn't too big of a fan of their fries. They definitely needed more pepper and salt, or just seasoning in general. They were cooked well, just lacked flavor. My bf got the Pastrami sandwich and he loved it,  thought it was heaven in a sandwich.

Overall, decent place with good food. Will be back here sometime in the future.
