I've been wanting to try this relatively new restaurant as its in my neighborhood. We went for dinner…when we walked in, there were several folks sitting about but not eating…it was a tad awkward but once the waitress saw we wanted to eat in, she quickly accommodated us at the bar. It was rather warm in the restaurant but a large fan helped to keep the air moving.
We started with beef empanadas which were really good. We ordered the Churrasco steak with tostones (fried green plantains) and Pollo ala plancha (they have a longer name for this) with french fries. We finished it off with dessert which included Tres Leches (my all-time fave) and flan with pineapple.
The Churrasco steak was good…but the chicken was better and I'll definitely order this instead next time. The tostones were well cooked and tasty. The desserts weren't impressive and will be skipped on future visits. Apparently they are not made in-house and come from New York.
I found the prices to be well, pricey. My Churrasco steak was $18. A dinner for two, granted 2 appetizers (empanadas), 2 dinners and 2 desserts for $40 isn't a bad deal but I've experienced better value in other Latin American restaurants.
Service could have and should have been better. Three times we had to ask for a water refill and a check took quite awhile to produce.
