Let me preface this by saying that I am a vegetarian therefore I can't eat most of the food here. I can, however, eat their desserts!
Two things: banana bread pudding and sweet potato cheesecake or whatever kind of cake it is. Eat them!!! I usually get Magnolia Bakery banana bread pudding from New York, but not is this right around the corner from where I live, but it is also cheaper for a much larger quantity! I finished a whole tub in one night, though post two donkey punches at Dino BBQ which is right next door. So go here and help support a wonderful local restaurant!
I ate lunch here for the first time today and had a great experience. Two ladies behind the counter were very helpful. I ordered fried shrimp with yellow rice and a coke. It was a little pricey. About $10.00. But I will say they do have additional lunch specials for $5.00 and $7.00 that include a drink.
The order came out in about 12 minutes. So if you work in the area, you may want to call your order in advance. The girls at the counter were encouraging another customer to do that as well.
It was really good food. The rice was parboiled rice and I was hoping for regular long grain rice, but none the less very flavorful.
The fried shrimp were amazing. The seasoning on the outside of the shrimp was perfect. I had it with tarter sauce on the side.
I would definitely go back again. I also posted pictures of the cakes on display and they looked amazing. Next time I go back I have to get dessert!
I didn't see coffee- consider coffee to go with that cake!
