  1. Went for lunch, quiet day only one other table filled.  Its a sports bar so TVs on the wall, divey kind of bar feel as expected.  Got the oysters and a buffalo chick wrap. The oysters were ok but I kind of expected that. Hot sauce for the oysters was really hot, excellent. The buffalo wrap and fries were very good. A good place to stop for a beer and wings and to watch a game. Food was decent, not outstanding. Service was very friendly

  2. There aren't many sports bars in the area but a friend and I decided to check out the NBA Finals here one night. The audio was provided for the game but instead it was 80's music playing so it wasn't exactly the atmosphere we were aiming towards. Everyone at the bar was clearly there to watch the NBA Finals yet they still kept women's softball and a random soccer match on some of the TV's despite being asked to change. They do have a good selection of beers and we didn't go to eat but if you're looking for a true sports bar, consider going somewhere else.

  3. After a couple more visits, I'm upgrading to a 4 star (using my complex & highly scientific review formula…;) ).  Last night we went there & the place was PACKED but they quickly found us a table.  We had drunken mussels (tasty but some of the mussels were pretty puny), steamed shrimps (good but a little overcooked) and tenders (got 10 but 5 would have been enough!).   The service has been good the past few visits.

I always try to review based on reasonable expectations for they type of business (i.e. I wouldn't try to compare a cheap hole-in-the-wall place with a Michelin starred restaurant) but Sharky's still confuses me somewhat.  There's quite a "chainy" sports bar feel to the place, with laminated menus & bucket of beer drink specials, and yet they have a well stocked bar with good craft beer options.  The food is very good compared with your average chains but I do feel there's room for improvement to bring them up to their potential.

    We'll be back for sure

  4. I really only ever eat the wings here as I will get a hankering for Old Bay seasoning ( which sounds weird ). They do have 24 beers on tap which and a knowledgable craft beer bartender.

Bring quarters as there are parking meters all around.

  5. 4 stars for a quick easy friendly sports bar with 1.50 happy hour coors lights and some video games for the kiddies.  Heard the seafood is great but still have to give it a try.  the wings, steamers and wraps were all very good!

  6. I'm originally from Clifton so I have been going to that location for years and love their wings. I did not however love the cramped and tight space. This location is more spacious so I definitely felt more comfortable here. They had large TV screens and some games and a photo booth to distract the kids.

A fan of the wings – love that you can add fresh garlic too.

Everything else fell short. Oysters – not that great. Lobster bisque – disappointing – could barely taste the lobster, no chunks or anything.

Came on a Sunday and they had some beer specials and Bloody Marys for $5 each.

Friendly service. Decent spot to grab a beer and some good wings.

  7. A lot has changed. Fortunately, the wings are still as good as ever. Here's a rundown:
    * Garlic: Lots of tiny shredded pieces instead of the big chunks. Somehow results in less flavor. I've stopped ordering it.
    * Service: Slower. There's one guy who's really good, but the rest, eh.
    * Price: Expensive. Reasonable in the scheme of restaurants overall, but way too much for a bar. Desserts are out of reach – $6? Where are the $4 choices? You get much more at a diner for much less.
    * Happy hour used to be 4-7 and 8-12. Now it's 4-7 and 10-12. I'm not going over there to watch Monday or Thursday Night Football if I have to spend a half waiting for specials to kick in.
    * Beer selection has improved. But you pay for it.

5 stars is my "go whenever I can" rating. I don't do that. 4 stars is my "recommend to friends" rating. I don't even do that. So it's 3 stars. I'll go, especially for the wings, but I'm kinda turned off from it. I hope Sharky's East remains cheap with a longer happy hour. I'll take less beer selection for the neighborhood bar ambiance.

  8. We stopped in here to grab some wings and other pubfood to bring home. We ordered and had a beer at the bar while we were waiting for our food. Now, it's our own fault for walking into a sports bar during a football game, we should have known it would be pretty packed at the bar and very loud. As we sat and had 2 drinks each over the course of an hour, we watched a guy wandering around the entire place with a white plastic bag in his hands. I figured he was just a confused patron who had one beer too many and was bringing his leftovers home since he wasn't talking to anyone or asking questions at any tables… Once we finished the second beer, my partner inquired about what was taking our food so long to come out as we were starving by this point, and of course, the wandering bag guy was an employee walking in circles with our food. How does that even happen? I'm laughing about it now, but I don't think I'll come here again unless I end up standing in front of it needing a drink.
    The food was just okay.
