“Only thing is the best taste are in house , if you order out the container they pack it in pretty much strips the flavor away !!!”
“You can tell that they spend more money to have higher quality ingredients and it is appreciated.”

An underrated Asian/fusion spot that needs some recognition for its tasty green-ness & greatness!
We just ordered for pick up, but when we went in, the cashier was uber friendly & asked us if we wanted any sauces & also ensured we left with everything we ordered. Customer service is errrythang, & this spot is super on point with their friendly staff. Another plus to this spot is that THIS RESTAURANT IS THE ONLY CERTIFIED GREEN RESTAURANT in the city, which is super dope. Read up on what that means, it's pretty dope how environmentally friendly this business is.
We got:
Chicken and shrimp Pad Thai & Sesamw shrimp with brown rice.
Both were VERY LARGE PORTIONS. Both were not super, hecka, hella greasy like most Chinese restaurants. Both tasted clean, green– if ya know whattimean! Organic Brown rice substitution is free of charge, so, it's encouraged to be healthy here!
The only thing I'd change is more veggies is my Pad Thai. Other than that, I'm definitely coming back!!!
Asian fusion is kinna my thang,

I came here the other night with a friend because I've been wanting to try this place out and we were both pleasantly surprised by the tastiness of our food. I had the General Tso's chicken, which was the recommended chicken dish by the nice guy behind the cashier. We both thought the portions were just perfect so that we were too full for dessert and the prices are reasonable for what you get.
Perfectly fine Chinese food, but nothing special in my opinion. I came for an early dinner before a show at the Bell House, and I really think that they benefit from the lack of competition in the area – we would have gone somewhere else, but there aren't a lot of options and somehow most of the other places we looked at were closed when we were there. Prices area little steeper than I usually expect for Chinese takeout, but I don't think that the quality is any better, personally. They advertise themselves as being very eco-friendly, and I get that that might account for the higher prices, but I'm really not used to a double digit bill for your run of the mill noodles. On the bright side, you do get a lot of food, so you can stretch it into two meals, but my noodles were swimming in sauce, so by the next day they were unfortunately soggy. I wish I had been more impressed with this place, because I'm on-board with eco-friendly dining, but the menu felt uninspired and unexciting, the price tag was higher than what it was worth, and overall, I was not impressed. The best part of the experience was that the interior is very clean, modern, and fresh, which I appreciate.
This review is for a carryout order. First off, I commend what Michael & Ping's is doing in terms of being Green, using natural and local products when possible and no MSG/other chemicals in their food. The food here is good and best thing is after eating it you don't feel disgusting because its not greasy and doesn't have that artificial taste to it.
I ordered the (i) roast pork spring rolls $4.50, which were slightly above average; crisp and you can tell they were freshly made vs being frozen (note you get roast pork bits vs full roast pork pieces), (ii) beef & baby bok choy chow fun $9.95: another solid dish, good portions, not too greasy, oily or salty (usually from too much soy sauce). Even felt light. Only knock is too many black beans, (iii) chicken & shrimp pad thai $10.50: my favorite and a must-have in my opinion. Again not too greasy, salty or oily. Large portion size. Chicken is natural and hormone free. Shrimp don't contain any shells. Noodles are not sticky. Remember to use the limes for an extra zest.
The prices are slightly higher than normal Chinese takeout places but you get what you pay for as this isn't your normal Chinese place. In addition, a $25 groupon for $15 is available, which is what I used for the above 3 items (didn't have to pay extra even though I went slightly over).
If you want to eat in, the space itself seemed clean and modern. There is a large TV screen as well to keep you entertained. In addition, for the time being, there is a popup panini shop using the space as well. I give them kudos for using cardboard boxes for to go orders vs the traditional plastic containers or styrofoam traditionally found. One knock is the counter girl forgot to provide utensils and napkins in my takeout order. But not a big deal given the food. Will come back.
3.5 stars…
On the search for the best Chinese delivery place that will delivery to my place in the Cobble Hill area, Michael & Ping's was next on the list to try. They are "modern" in the fact that they have a website, are on seamless, offer higher quality ingredients, speak better English, and the food comes in modern cardboard containers. They also have an eat-in restaurant. The food options are a bit more limited than other Chinese take-out type places and what's on the menu is pretty standard, nothing really modern about the recipes.
This is the 4th Chinese delivery place my fiance and I have tried. We ordered the same from each place to keep everything fair. Michael & Ping's was the most expensive (about $32 before tip while the other places ranged from $17-27). What we got for that extra money was General Tso's chicken where it was made with actual quality pieces of white meat chicken, something none of the other places were able to offer. Unfortunately were it fell short was the lack of any crispy batter, a much smaller portion that didn't allow for any leftovers, and a mediocre sauce that tasted more like sweet and sour sauce then what I've come to expect from the dish. There was definitely no heat to the dish at all. The lo mein was the best we've had so far, it had nice doughy noodles, a tasty sauce, and a decent amount of meat. The fried dumplings weren't at all crispy and the flavor was average at best but the dough to meat ratio was spot on. We also got something we hadn't ordered from the other spots, scallion pancakes. These came in the most unexpected way. The pancakes were almost the same texture as a regular pancake you would have at breakfast (fluffy and not fried), rolled up with some fillings in it and a dipping sauce. They were ok but not something we would probably order again.
It's also worth noting that the delivery time was longer than the rest of the places. The food arrived without a menu for the place, fortune cookies, napkins, or utensils.
Michael & Pings is completely underrated. I came here one night because I got the groupon which was $15 for $25 worth of food, and I'm so happy I went. I was surprised when I got there to realize it's kinda more of a order and go kinda pace. There's no waitress service, but you order at the counter and the girls will bring your food to the table for you.
As an appetizer I got the wonton soup and the pork dumplings, both were excellent. The wonton soup tasted so fresh and light and the dumplings were just as good. For an entree I got the sesame chicken salad, that came with a light dressing on it. It was good but nothing special obviously because it was just a salad. My boyfriend got the pepper steak with vegetable fried rice, which was deeelish.
All the food was so flavorful. This place is an Americanized Chinese restaurant that you definitely have to try if you're in the area. I'll be back for sure.
Michael & Ping's Modern Chinese Take-Out (M&P) is the best Chinese style American food I've ever had! The offer all the dishes you've grown to love to hate: General Tso's chicken, beef and broccoli, pepper steak, kung pao chicken and other Chinese inspired American dishes.
Philosophically they are on point: no MSG, "think outside of the box" etc. And–get this–they actually execute on better quality, non-bloating food. Some suggested (on Yelp) that the food lacked flavor. Perhaps they mean that the food didn't have the biting intensity of high-sodium soy sauce and MSG sprinkled throughout? I don't know… My experience is that all the dishes that I tried were flavorful and satisfying. Especially the glazed pork ribs which melted in our mouths. I can't wait to return
Came here for dinner with the family after hearing from friends it was underrated. Also wanted to go someplace other than my usual park slope Szechuan spot.
I would agree that the food was solid and perhaps underrated. Flavors were good and everything was fresh – but I didn't realize how much of a take out spot it is. You can sit and eat but it's very casual dining with just the bare minimum of table service. Staff is friendly and all but if you're looking to sit down and have a meal, adjust your expectations. My mom is an old-school lady and was taken aback at ordering at the register, paying up front and then getting your food.
The good news is that the food was pretty good, which made my mom happy. I highly recommend their version of cold sesame noodles – it's got lots of green veggies and delicious sesame flavor. It was probably my favorite dish of the night. Close second was the calamari – thin sliced, tender, not too heavily breaded and the addition of fermented black bean is genius.
Everything else – shrimp and chicken dishes – was good solid food but in general benefitted from the addition of chili paste and a bite of Chinese mustard.
Also on the plus side, they have a vegetarian menu which was great for my sister. The Shitake Bun (veg version of Pork Bun) was delicious! That rounded out my top three dishes for the night.
