As part of my restaurant hop through Flushing last weekend, we stopped at this food court to see what all the hype was all about. It's located in the basement of a mall. They offer every type of food one can think of in one spot. We ordered pan fried dumplings and a Szechuan stir fry from 2 different stalls. The food was really good. The only negative is seating can be hard to find since it's so busy. We went at 8 pm and the food court was packed.
FIVE STARS because there's no way you can't find something great to eat here.
Great place for Chinese food. So many variety of noodles and dumplings. I've been craving food from this food court for so long….we recently flew to New Jersey to visit my sister-in-law and she brought us here. Because of her work, we had to go on a weekend which was crazy crowded. Basically you order food and find a seat, but on the weekend, come with a group and get a table first!
It was hard to remember all the stalls we got food from, but everything we got was good.
I love this place. So many options and open until 10-11pm. It's also just below the Jmart!
The green milk tea from the place next to gong cha is so good–the tea is really fragrant, like jasmine green tea.
The fresh noodles from lan zhou is also really good–we shared a house special stir fried version, which came with shrimp, pork and veggies.
Lastly, we had the crab soup dumplings from noodle village. The skin was so thin but it held all the tasty soup inside. I recently went to the toronto ding tai feng and this was actually a lot better.
This place is crazy! We stumbled upon by accident while walking through the mall. It is a food court set up with cheap casual street food type places. There are probably 20 plus places to choose from. There were several places serving massive quantities of stir fried meat out of huge serving platters, it was quite a site. Will be back!
Real authentic Chinese food. So many choices. Feels like China just walking into the mall. Will be back time and time again.
It's hard to believe that NWM has been open for 5 years, but in light of recent changes, I feel I am obligated to update my previous review…with another 5 stars!
1) The food court is open until 11:00 pm now. Whaaat?? You mean I can eat dinner at 10:00 pm without feeling rushed or the lights turning off on me?? Awesome!!
2) The main staples of LaoMa and Lan Zhou (which has now expanded its space) are still there as well as some other good stalls.
3) There have been some recent additions due to old stalls leaving (seems like it happens every year when rent is due). Some notable ones include Chinese Korean Dumplings and Noodles, Gong Cha, and Kum Gang San (yes, you read that correctly).
4) The tables and chairs are shiny and new and without the T-Baar stickers all over them.
Time to embark on another foodie adventure here!
This place is AMAZING! It's like a small amusement park for your tummy!
It has everything from bubble tea, to dessert, to hot and steamy soup to stir fried seafood.
I had a hot and sour noodle beef soup from one of the vendors that brought sweat to my head and tears to my eyes. Then, I got bubble tea and that was delicious. After walking around a bit and opened up some space in my stomach, I decided to give the seafood guys (they are in the back corner by the bathroom and they have a tank of live seafoods) a try and they were so delicious and fresh! I got the stone-crab with hot and spicy flavor, it came with a generous serving of rice and side salad…the stone-crab was tender, fresh and delicious.
If I am back in Flushing again, I'll be sure to starve myself the day before (but drink lots of water so your stomach don't shrink lol!) and eat my way through the rest of this food court!!!
Always packed, noisy and a bit dirty, but the food and prices are great! If you have no idea where to eat while in Flushing or just want to grab something more casual come check out the food court! It has a ton of great food that is represented in grab and go type restaurant styles of popular restaurants around flushing. They have a ton of boba tea choices down there and you'll find cuisine from Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Taiwanese, etc. they also recently opened a new Kum Gang San (well known Korean restaurant on Northern Blvd) grab and go shop down there with some of their popular bibimbap and kalbi dishes! Never a bad time here.
