  1. It's a part of life, if you make a popular product, it will be compared to other places that make the same thing. I thought the Xiao Long Bao here were good but not great, I felt they fell apart too easily and the broth coulda been more sexy. The restaurant itself is pretty bare bones, it kinda looks and feels like any other Chinese restaurant.

    The food:

Kung Fu Steamed Pork Buns- Also know as Xiao Long Bao or XLB for short. The baos were good but I wasn't a fan of the broth being sweet, then to make it worse, the vinegar made it even sweeter. I did like the amount of ginger they put in the the soy, though. The texture of the pork was OK but it felt like minced meat that was just boiled, not really exciting. yelp.com/user_local_phot…

Scallion Pancake w. Sliced Beef- I thought the flavor of this was good but it came off too sweet, most likely from the amount of hoisin sauce. I also thought the pancake was slightly greasy and the beef was on the dry side but If you are a fan of cilantro like I am, they do put a whopping amount. yelp.com/user_local_phot…

Snow Cabbage & Pork Noodle Soup- The noodle soup was nice and perfect for a cold, Winter day. The dish had good flavor and I enjoyed the Snow Cabbage but I think the dish was kinda too one note, I think it's better for sharing. yelp.com/user_local_phot…

Spicy Cucumber- It's nice and refreshing but the heat was minimal, I would have appreciated it more if it was spicier. The dish was fairly simple, it's basically soy, sesame oil and chilies. yelp.com/user_local_phot…

Braised Dong Po Pork- The color on the pork was odd, it was like neon red looking. The flavor really reminded me of char siu pork but on a fatty piece of pork. The pork was fatty and sweet, but the pool of oil on the bottom was kinda off putting. The pork was tender but had some chewy bits, I think it needed to me cooked a tad more to make it completely tender. yelp.com/user_local_phot…

  2. Can't believe I haven't written a review for Kung Fu Xiao Long Bao.  For a Chinese establishment in Flushing, this place is pretty put together.  From the contemporary decor to the exceptional service and amazing food, this restaurant excels.  The space is long and narrow, but they positioned their furniture to allow enough privacy between parties and room for customers to pass.  Everything is kept fairly clean, so I feel confident not wiping down my plates and utensils.  Service is friendly and attentive, despite most of the staff not speaking English too well.  Lastly, the food here is awesome!  The skin to the soup dumplings are thin, yet strong enough to hold the hot soup within without breakage.  They also have cold dishes like most Shanghainese restaurants do, my favorites of which being the drunken chicken, gluten and spicy beef tripe.  Their Shanghainese Shao Mai, pork and cabbage and beef noodle soups are pretty amazing as well.  I haven't had a bad experience here yet and hope it stays that way!

  3. WOOOW. This place is pretty darn fab. Authentic food, good prices, and away from the hubbub of Downtown Flushing. Make sure to get the crab soup dumplings!

  4. We decided to try someplace new since we always go to nan xiang xiao long bao. Our friend suggested we try this place.

Pros: all of our food came out within 10 minutes of ordering which is impressive considering how busy they were. The shanghai pan-fried noodles were so good! Well cooked, thick & chewy udon noodles that aren't too oily. But that's pretty much all I liked.

Cons: xiao long baos were tiny. They were okay but nothing special. The pork in nan xiang xiao long baos taste better, as does the soup. As for the beef scallion pancake, it was a bigger quantity but there was way too much cilantro and the meat was pretty dry and unexciting. Whereas nan xiang's scallion pancakes may be smaller in comparison but they're crispier and the meat is more tender and flavorful.

Although their service is much quicker, we most likely will not come back here. We'll stick to nan xiang xiao long bao.

  5. Kung Fu XLB, notorious for their unique varieties of soup dumplings – chocolate to be exact. That's right sister, your eyes are not foolin you here, it's le chocolat.

Unfortunately for us, they were out of the chocolate XLB henceforth the following orders:
    – cumin beef 2/5
Beef was slightly overcooked, bit tougher than I'd prefer. Seasoning weak.
    – fried pork chop 1/5
Ample amount of breading on the pork, but overwhelmingly salty. No pepper, nothing. Just plain salt and batter
    – 夫妻肺片 beef tripe dish 5/5
The saving grace. Though this is a staple dish in Northern Chinese cuisine, this was my first time trying it out. Sliced tripe was mixed with beef both marinated in soysauce and hot chilli served cold. This dish has a well balance of spicy without masking the taste of the marinate. Oh and the usual squeamish me, found these internal organs quite yummy and not gamy.
    Service was 3/5
Fast service. Water and tea never refilled.

We came Thursday night and was told that they close at 10:30. They were still jammin 30 min to closing, with patrons being turned away when they found out about the closing time. Perhaps consider extending your hours?
    Cash only.

  6. Good experience. This would be my second time here. Came here about a hour before they closed, so they kinda of rushed us a bit, but that's okay I guess. We ordered the stir fried udon with pork, spicy wontons, and Kung Pao Chicken. The noodles were great because they weren't too dry and has a great balance of flavor! I particularly like the Kung Pao Chicken, in which was simply the best that I've ever had. As for the spicy wontons, not a big fan because there seems to be barely any meat inside the wontons and I wasn't particularly fond of the flavor of the sauce.

  7. Kung Fu was the best place I've been in NY for 小笼包, $6 for 6 dumplings these are pork mixed with crab. Soup broth was so flavorful, and the skin perfect thickness  worth the long drive into Queens .
The appetizers were also very authentic and made well, fungus, wine chicken, and garlic cucumber among the options.
Their scallion pancake was also extra crispy, made perfectly.
There is nothing but good things for me to say about this place

  8. ** Cash Only **
Street parking available (meter & free)

Jasmine milk green tea is good here
Snow cabbage and pork noodle soup is delicious
Soup dumpling is good, but I still prefer nan xiang's
    Pan fried noodles are standard
Friendly staff with good service, and the food did arrive pretty quickly
