This is my "back up" place in Bay Ridge for decent Chinese food.
Their delivery is quick, but I like to grab my take out when I come out of the subway, on the walk up to Third avenue.
It's quick, good, and the people here are friendly.
I usually bust the family eating their dinner in the corner of one of the few 4 top tables that they have. Which makes me feel good, because I like the fact that they are eating their own food.
There's not a lot of seating. Only 2 or three tables, and it's not really a wonderful environment to sit down in if you want to relax. They usually have the door propped open, and the counter and kitchen are very close to the seating, as is the bathroom. (which is sometimes out of service)
They have seats lined up against the glass window, where you can sit and wait for your take out. I like the hot Chinese mustard for my egg roll, and they have nice little containers made up for that.
I like that, as it has that extra kick. (uh…like clear your nostrils kick)
I normally order the chicken with broccoli, which the small order is perfect!.
Sooner than you think, you'll be on your way home with a nice stapled brown bag of yummy goodness. 🙂
They have one of my favorite lunch specials when it comes to quality and quantity. Since I'm lazy I tend to order delivery, and they come to me remarkably fast. Even in the middle of winter it rarely took longer than 35 minutes to get to me (I do live very close however). The delivery minimum is 10$, which means two lunch orders. Or for me, enough leftovers for four wonderful days.
I love the lo mein, it's perfectly cooked. Not under or over cooked, with just enough flavor that you can taste what else is in there. They also have really good white rice, which when hot and fresh is great. I tend to order their duck, it isn't the best duck I've had, but it's better than having to make the 40 minute trek to Chinatown. They also have this cheap appetizer dish, fried scallops. I don't know if it's actually a scallop, or if it's a faux scallop, but whatever it is it's delicious. I could eat 40 of them. And considering 10 of them are less than 4$ that is easily doable.
I've never eaten inside the store, but they have two or three tables for people to sit down at, but I've found that usually the people sitting there are the employees.
If you live around here and want some cheap chinese food that'll satisfy you, look no further. But if you have the means and patience to go to the city and want high quality stuff, then you're better off in Chinatown.
