Very good cantonese restaurant. Came here on a Monday night, and it wasn't that crowded. Party wasn't all there yet and they let us sit and drink tea for maybe 20 minutes without asking us if we were ready to order (this may have been lack of attention, but I'll spin it as a positive). Don't bother ordering the american fare dishes, but probably stick with the chinese on the wall. You probably want to come with someone that knows what he/she is doing and can read the writing… The duck was great, not that fatty and had good meat to it. If it wasn't so far away, I'd probably come back here again. Service was acceptable, though if you wanted anything you'd have to wave them down. They were kind enough to tell us to stop ordering cuz we had too many dishes, lol.
If you order enough/have enough people, they give some chicken in ginger/scallion sauce.
Decently priced Chinese food, quick service, good taste. Just not the best I've ever had. Had their pork and thousand year old egg congee, rice paste with roasted pork, and chicken fried rice for $13. Chicken fried rice was okay, congee hit the spot with lots of meat and egg but a little watery, rice paste had a lot of meat but I wish I got the shrimp instead. Overall good place for a quick fix. Their health inspection rating is currently pending as of today.
My hot spot when i want comfort chinese food. Everything here is so good and so cheap!
I highly recommend Roasted duck, congee with pork balls, big pang chow mein (vermicelli noodles with seafood and lots of other stuff) so yummy. Servers hear speak decent english so dont be afraid to dine in.
Never Ever again. I guest because i'm American and a women i should be treated like i am not important. My bff Jenny L. took me here for some soup, something light because i had a long night ahead of me. Once we walked in no one wanted to seat us, so we took it upon ourselves to sit where-ever we felt.
the Waiter was being a little rude, but once he seen my friend Jenny spoke Chinese his whole vibe changed. I tried to ask some questions about the soup i was ordering but he barely made eye contact with me.. so jenny ordered everything and once i asked for a bottle of water he told me no water. Excuse me no water!!!! ( i wanted to slap this man).
with continuing on with the poor service. Jenny ordered Beef Chow fun and i ordered a Dumpling soup with Hao Fun noodles. My soup was bland i guest that's how people like it and jenny Beef Chow fun and it was delicious.
i wouldn't come back but thats my opinion.
I came here on Sunday around 1 PM and they were pretty busy, but there were still a few tables available. They were still serving breakfast items. I'm not quite sure when they stop serving it.
Since it was my first time here, I wanted to try a variety of their offerings. Between the two of us we ordered five items and we definitely over ordered. In the end we couldn't finish everything.
We had:
1. Sweet fried dough – This is pretty big and you can share it. It's not too oily and the dough is very soft and a bit sweet. ($1.00)
2. Pork w/ thousand year egg congee – This is one of my favorite congee and it was smooth with the right thickness and tasty too. ($4.00)
3. Steamed rice roll w/ fried dough – The dough was fresh and chewy, unlike some places where it's hard and old. This dish the portions are huge. ($3.75)
4. Steamed rice roll w/ shrimp – The skin was a little thick but it was still good. The shrimp was plump and fresh. ($2.75)
5. Steamed rice roll w/ dried shrimp – The dried shrimp gives it a salty shrimp taste and it had scallions. Together with the dried shrimp and scallion it was a good combination. ($2.25)
There were plenty of servers and they were friendly. The service was good and the fast came out fast and piping hot. I really like this place and I will definitely come back for breakfast, lunch, or dinner.
Not only is the food good the price is relatively cheap. There's not much of a décor to this place. It looks like any other Cantonese restaurant. The place is not too small or too big. It's good for groups.
After an incident of food poisoning, we moved our business else where. The entire family had food poisoning, including the little one. 🙁 I don't mess around if you get my little guy sick!
i hate giving places bad reviews that i wanted to enjoy. we had 2 tables for dinner and they were friendly and all that good stuff. the food just lacked flavor. we had SO MUCH FOOD. and they all consistently lacked flavor. the house chicken was probably the biggest hit but that was free. we had crab over vermicelli noodles – totally underseasoned and slightly dry. steamed fish was overcooked. t bone steak was nothing unique – bland. fried sweet n sour spare ribs – was not even sweet and sour, it was just red. veggie dishes all bland. shrimp with mayo – underwhelming. roasted garlic chicken was about the only decent dish. pigs feet was funky – but believe their specialty. we had fish maw seafood soup and it was not spot on. needed vinegar and white pepper. we had a few more dishes but you get the point. i like to believe they had an off day but this was one of the worst family dining chinese food our family has had in a long while. i think they specialize in roasted meats / lobster. the phone was off the hook on a friday night of orders.
This is fast food Chinese place, which I typically like a lot. My girlfriend and I came here after stopping by in Brooklyn for some other reasons and we got a recommendation for this place by my mom.
We sat down and ordered a couple things. I got a chicken lo mein (gai see yee mein) and my girlfriend got a salt and pepper pork chop rice order. Both of the items could've used a little more flavor (though my girlfriend was especially unhappy with the pork chop's flavor), but for fast food chinese food, I thought it was alright. Would not recommend getting the chicken lo mein since it was pretty flavorless, but I did order a pork and pickled cabbage rice order (yuk see ja choi fan) that was really quite good and flavorful. Would come back for that again.
As far as service and atmosphere, don't expect much, because well… yeah. What was odd was that it took a long time to get our food. Odd.
