Basically just another kinda "meh" kinda Chinese place on the UES.
Meh – meh – meh.
Just a small little spot that is good for takeout and you don't care too much what you want to eat for dinner. Will do some steamed plates if trying to eat a bit healthier, but kind of bland tasting food overall.
Not a destination place. Skip it if you want better food for lunch or dinner.
I'll echo the reviews of the others lamenting the death of Sunny East Restaurant and its replacement with this new Sunny East 88.
New Sunny East used to be my "go to" Chinese restaurant on the UES. There was nothing in the neighborhood that even compared to it.
Now this new Sunny East 88 has opened and its not even worth my visiting anymore. The food has completely lost its quality and borders on tasteless.
I'm now in the process of trying to find an alternative Chinese Restaurant on the UES, but as of today's date, I have not had much luck.
I'll let everyone know if I do!
