  1. A good deli for tourists that want good ol' nyc eats as they have a pretty large selection of sandwiches, wraps, and burgers. I tried the Stage Door House Panini and a philly cheese steak, and while the Panini was very delicious with a good balance of meat, onions, and vinegarette, but they did run out of the proper bread for the cheesesteak and it was instead put on a bagel which I believe took a lot out of the experience.

  2. I can be very picky where I chose to eat while on vacation, especially in neighborhoods that are off the beating path. However, we stumbled up on this restaurant as we were walking to ground zero.  We decided not to get in times square this morning and eat locally.. I'm surely glad we did.  This is one of the best plates of food I've had since my visit to NYC.  I'm glad I stopped in. Had french toast, sausage, and potatoes; husband had western omelette, sausage, and potatoes totaling 18$ with a Snapple drink.  In my opinion it was worth it.

  3. We stopped off here after a morning at the Statue of Liberty. We were looking for a NY deli. We walked in and I was a bit skeptical but then I started looking at the menu…LOTS of options. And the wall of beverages was a welcome sight on a 90+ degree day.
I ended up with a Reuben with mustard which was really delicious. Just what I was looking for. My hubs has a chicken sando with mozzarella and roasted red peppers which was huge but also hit the spot.
I'm giving 4 stars because this is exactly the kind of place we were looking for, really casual, air conditioned, and big sandwiches for a hungry group.
If that is what you are looking for.. You will be pleased.

  4. This is a fast, loud and bustling deli that can be intimidating. Stage door is often packed with tourist and construction workers, but don't be discouraged they have a process that gets you in and out fast.

First. Order in the middle of the store at the mirrored counter.
Second. Get on a line at either side left or right to pay.
Third. Wait close to the register for your grub.

Your food will literally fly through the air into to the packers hands and into a bag to be packaged up and your on your way. The food is inexpensive but meh on taste. If your looking to satisfy hunger not so much your taste buds at a reasonable price Stage Door works.

  5. Such a great deli with so many choices.
I have to force myself not stop here everyday to get their bacon egg cheese on a roll on the way to work. The bacon is crispy, the eggs are cooked just right with a slightly yokey center, and a fresh roll. Second most important thing is a good cup of deli coffee!.

  6. Having lived in NYC for 12 years, there is nothing like a bacon, egg and cheese on a toasted cinnamon raisin bagel with a hot cup of coffee to get your day started.  Frankly, you can get that anywhere in NYC.  Some places taste better than Stage Door Deli – but why I'm a fan of this place is the speed at which they do all of this.  Fast, friendly service is key in NYC for all the folks on the run.  Whenever I'm working downtown, this is my place to go.

  7. Great solid New York deli. The seats are a bit tight, but it makes sense with how many people come here to eat. Especially with all of the options in the area surrounding the tourism for Ground Zero this place beats everything. Great staff, Great food, Great selection, Quick and genuine service.
Definitely a relief from the over attacked tourist environment.

  8. Great selection of sandwiches, hot foods and assorted drinks here. Except there's nothing here that makes Stage Door Deli stand out from the other hundreds of other Delis in New York City! Everything here is a tad more expensive than what you would find at any other deli but that's probably because it is in the FiDi area.

Yelp says their weekend operating hours start at 6am but when I showed up to get some breakfast, their sign on the front of their door says: open at 10am.
