Was very excited to try, as it's somewhat close to work. Having grown up in SoCal and AZ, some of the best Mex eateries are found in the simplest places (trucks and stands included).
Ordered a carne asada burrito. They did everything right in terms of customer service. I asked for no rice and it wasn't there. They asked if I wanted salsa added to the inside, which is key for a burrito to go. Even when I worked in downtown LA, you had to remember to ask for salsa on the "inside" otherwise you had to hold a burrito in one hand and drizzle sauce with the other as you ate your way down the tube of food.
I had two minor issues with TRI. First, the burrito was too moist after my 7 block walk. By the time I was at my desk, it was falling apart.
Secondly, there was no bold flavor or dominant ingredient. Just a mix/medley. No heat. No veggie kick. No profound starch (good beans). And the beef, while not fatty or grisly, was also not memorable.
But hey, their overall operation looked good and will try it again for tacos and other small bites.
After a long hiatus… the truck is back on the street… !!!! super happy they are back in the location. i missed their two dollar tacos!!!!
