I want to start this review by saying I'm not even done with my sandwich yet. I have devoured half of a sub with the other half on my desk while I type this…17th Street Gourmet is the closest deli to my job. It's a rainy day and I don't feel like walking far to get food and wasn't up to Just Salad (they're next door).
I came in here and it's a small little deli, but what a variety of sandwich combos they offer. I ordered a "Rambo" off the menu – a lemon herbed chicken breast, bacon, lettuce, tomato and honey mustard on a sub roll. The chicken breast is huge and the man behind the counter heated it and sliced it and arranged a beautiful sandwich. This monster was only $7. That's right, you can get a great sandwich for a dirt cheap price. The chicken has the most amazing flavor to it, I can really taste the lemon and combined with the other flavors is knocking it out of the park.
17th Street is a total gold-medal winner.
**EDIT** So I just noticed the sign over the door says 8 Ave. Gourmet Deli….
