Fada
“Turns out it was jam night–and we were in for a real treat with Jango Reinhardt-style gypsy jazz.”
“One of my favorite evenings at FADA involved a couple of old friends from out of town, a table full of beers and the music of Stephane Wrembel.”
“Regardless, the custard was creamy and smooth and the hint of lavender and figs was excellent.”

Cute outdoor/indoor garden in the back and it was so nice to not be in a cramped and packed place on a Saturday night…that's why I should leave Manhattan for Brooklyn more often!
The food was just ok. I had a burger, which underwhelmed me, it was a bit overcooked and dry. Two of my friends were not happy with their cocktail (same cocktail) that just tasted really off. Our server was accommodating and brought us separate checks, which was much appreciated since we were a large party.
They do take credit cards – I wanted to mention that since I saw "cash only" in some of the other reviews.
I stopped in here a really long time back with a friend before a Yelp event around the corner. It's a cute little inexpensive French Bistro with tantalizing sounding appetizers and fairly inexpensive cocktails. Not a huge beer selection but interesting cocktails. I splurged and went with a French martini – vodka, chambord, pineapple and lemon juice for $7. It tasted amazing, frothy, lite and sweet but still packed a wallop of alcohol. The bartender that was especially chatty that evening drew a heart in my froth. That's what she said? Wine was $6 and Beer (only 1664 or Mermaid Coney Island) was $5 from 5-7pm for happy hour. They had a bar menu with something called Mac and Cheese Carbonara with bacon and a cream and wine sauce that caught my eye but I was heading to an event where there was food and passed. Wine in macaroni and cheese sounds genius! The ambiance is really nice here though and it was very open to the street with large windows, little cafe tables, billowing french flags, bright yellow walls, and antique light shades.
What a darling little bistro we stumbled upon in Williamsburg! My friend and I wanted a couple of cocktails and a nibble and had a great experience at Fada.
We shared the truffle burrata salad which was a lovely medley of flavors. Served with baguette, there was a luscious scoop of burrata atop confit tomatoes, pesto, a balsamic reduction and topped with roasted pine nuts. Such a refreshing appetizer.
The drinks were a bit disappointing. My French 75 was served with a maraschino cherry in it and was practically all champagne. Not really a French 75 I've ever been familiar with or would spring for in the future. That being said, a cocktail is still a cocktail at the end of the day and at the very least it gave me a swift buzz!
So My boyfriend and I found this place on Yelp, when were were chillen' in in Williamsburg. We decided to give it a whirl…and to our delight it was a pleasant surprise. I ordered the Croque Madame, and my boyfriend got the Haliput sandwich. Both were very delicious. I would recommend this place to almost anyone.
Exceptional ambience and food. A very special place. We were there tonight with some musician friends of the owners playing; accomplished chaps all around. The food is classic French bistro fair with the odd twist; like roasted beets on the burger with cheese and bacon. The creme brûlée is huge and quite delicious.
I was planning to go to Brooklyn Winery, but the restaurant was used for a private event. I was a tour guide for my boyfriend's family, so I was at loss for a moment, but I found this cute French restaurant with a backyard on the kitty-corner of Brooklyn Winery. I was saved by this place.
It was late Saturday afternoon. We found seats immediately in the backyard with clear roof. The backyard was hidden from the street by beautiful trees and vines. There was a tree with hanging branch in the middle of the backyard, and our table was right next to it. The tree was like wall and that made a semi private atmosphere and I liked that. I also liked the brick wall with vines, a huge plat pan on the wall and choice of chairs and tables. Our waiter was a black nice man. I ordered their original cocktail named something like "Calvapolitan." It was a red colored cocktail with citrus flavor. I and my boyfriend's sister liked it.
When we finished the check and were about to leave, the waiter talked to us. Since we were a group of family, he told us how precious family is. He told us he was born in Africa and his family is now in Europe and how he loves his family. It was a heartwarming moment. We only ordered drink this time, but I want to go back there for eating next time.
Yum!!!
Came here on a Saturday night. There was a good band playing jazzy/bluesy music – fun but not too loud or anything.
The beet salad was good and the calamari was lovely too. The squid was lightly breaded but not deep fried and the sauce it was cooked with was yummy.
The New Orleans mussels were good with crawfish and calamari but I wish there were a little more of each for 24 bucks. The broth was heavenly. The waitstaff offered to bring bread so we could sop it up.
The steak was perfectly medium rare and could be cut with a butter knife. The sauce on it was so good!
The croque madame I had for brunch here is one of the best I've ever had. Everything was great, nice laid back atmosphere. I definitely want to return one night for the live music and to try the poutine.
