  1. Let me begin my saying my expectations for airport food come along with accepting that it will be overpriced and mediocre at best.  With that being said, yuck.  Stale food, workers with nasty attitudes, and prices that are higher than any of the other nearby restaurants.  I don't even believe I'm writing this but I actually prefer the pizza place and DD over this place.  Or really just taking my money out and throwing it away.   Avoid.

  2. Yep, 2 stars for "Meh. I've experienced better" pretty much sums up this establishment.  It's located in the food court in Terminal 8 at JFK, and is really the only non-fast food option there (other restaurants in this food court include a McDonalds, a Chinese restaurant and a pizza place…All typical, standard airport fare).

The Europan Bakery Café had an appetizing looking burger and fries pictured on their menu and on the prepared food display on top of one of the coolers.  I ordered up a burger and fries, grabbed a fruit juice and one of those little bottles of wine for the plane.  As the guy was cooking my burger on the grill over a large, open flame, I noticed several times that he kept smashing it and pressing it as hard as he could with his spatula, and then pressing the corner of the spatula into the burger to see how well done it was.  I almost begged him a few times to stop, because by pressing over and over like that, he was simply forcing all the juices out!

About 5 minutes later, my burger and fries were served.   The burger was topped with lettuce and tomato and there were packets of ketchup available, but I was really unhappy with the food overall.  The burger, as expected, was completely dry, as buddy had forced every drop of the juices out during his 'cooking" process.  Additionally, he had managed to burn the burger on both sides…But I was hungry and in a hurry, so I wasn't going to bother taking it back.  The fries were also pretty crappy….overly crunchy as if they'd been left in the fryer for too long, and he didn't salt them once they were cooked, so they were pretty bland.

The only saving grace for this "café" is that the little bottles of wine were $2 cheaper than they charge on the plane…And after a weekend running around NYC, trying to see as much as possible in the 2 days we had there and now a pending 3 hour flight from JFK, heaven knows I needed that little bottle of wine!

  3. Horrible service. I dropped my bakery right after I bought it. Before I said anything, the casher said "I can't get you a new one" I was not even intent to do so and she assumed my intent and was so mean. Horrible

  4. Well, it's not as bad as the reviews would suggest.  I came in expecting the worst and got a decent, freshly made, cheesesteak with fries.  Service was brisk and kind of unfriendly. But it was fine.

There just are terrible choices in this terminal for some reason. Can't understand why JFKL puts up with this.
