  1. This gem of a deli is hidden inside Bowery Kitchen Supplies, which is hidden inside the arcade-style Chelsea market. Reminds me of those Matryoshka dolls I fascinated about as a kid…

BKS is where you will find all your kitchen gadget needs. If kitchenware is your thing, then this is your nirvana. Luckily for my wallet, kitchen gadgets don't induce euphoria in me.

The Bowery Eats deli is a no frills deli inside a kitchen supply store, but don't let that fool you. They make some of the best sandwiches in NYC.

After a walk over from the Chelsea art galleries, I worked up a good appetite .
Chelsea market on the weekends is really scary. Way too many people and at times I worry it is a fire hazard. But I digress. I was not in the mood to wait in long lines for mediocre food.

There was no line when I arrived and was able to order immediately. I got the 4P special which is roasted pork, prosciutto, parmesan cheese, and roasted peppers on a toasted wheat baguette. This sandwich was fantastic! I was able to enjoy it for two meals. The roasted pork was moist and tender. The other ingredients melded well with the roasted pork. I am not a big deli person. I may eat one deli sandwich once every few months, but this sandwich was so worth it!

I like that this place is hidden so you don't have the tourist lining up and taking pics.  Get one of these sandwiches to-go and go to the Highline. Makes for a beautiful Saturday afternoon.

  2. Inside a kitchen supply shop at Chelsea market, this place is a good lunch option for ppl who work in the area and do not want to pay a premium for foods with marked up price just because they are inside Chelsea market. The line could get long during lunch time, but they are pretty fast, and $10 for a big sandwich/sub is a steal! I had the French Cuban sandwich, not the best, but not the worst. I will be back to try other things on the menu.

  3. Not my favorite places in the Chelsea Market to eat but it's still good. Its hidden inside a kitchen/cooking supply store, that being good since they won't get crazy long times. I ordered the french tuna sandwhich which was just okay. I believe it was a buzzfeed (I could be wrong) article that I read that said it was one of the "must tries" of the Chelsea Market, I wouldn't after. It was just OK. The tuna had olives mixed inside in which I personally liked but it still felt like something was missing. The service was also just OK, while looking at what they offer the counter girl just stood there,  not even a hello until I was ready to order.
