This is the only delivery we have for Mexican food. Not only is it the only delivery place for Mexican, it really might be the best around. There was never an issue with the quality or delivery of this restaurant. I've tried just about everything they have to offer and I can honestly say that I would probably order anything they have. The food was on point and delivery was perfect.
Inconsistency is my BIGGEST issue with this place.
When they're good…oh, when they are good, they are so good I want to pull my hair out!
When they're bad, they are below average, but not horrible. What makes it horrible is that you're expecting or hoping for a good day and a good order. When it misses your expectations, it sucks!!!
A few of our most loved AND hated items:
Roast Chicken.
On a good day, it is seasoned to perfection and juicy. On a bad day, it is still seasoned well, but overcooked to the point where meat and bone can't hold together. Fall-off-the-bone meat is appreciated by me, but not when it comes to roast chicken. It was possibly overcooked, but more likely old…from a previous day or so and reheated too often.
Tacos Al Pastor.
On a good day, the meat is beautifully seasoned and moist, topped with fresh onions and cilantro. Mind-blowingly delish! On a bad day, we can get something either over-seasoned with powdered seasonings, dry meat, or something would be off in the seasoning.
Guacamole and Chips.
No good days. Chips are decent, but guac is blended, watered down, and bland.
*** On the WORST day, they'll run out of cilantro for the tacos and won't tell you when you place the order. When the order arrives, not only would it be missing cilantro, a major ingredient to Mexican tacos, they've added shredded iceberg lettuce on top as garnish. Seriously?!! Isn't it bad enough we're missing a vital herb? Now you want to water it down even further with lettuce?! This happened twice. Both times, we did call back and told them NOT to do this anymore and to please inform us when they're out of ingredients when we place the order.
We've never asked for refunds, because they are a small, local business and we want to love them, we really do! Even with the inconsistencies (I'd say odds are 50/50), we still order from them quite frequently for both take-out and delivery.
Three stars may be a bit generous here, but like I said, when they're good, OMG!
