Pour George has had a facelift! This place is cool and happening, the booze got a lot cheaper and the crowd much younger and yippier. Cool new-old spot with a gourmet looking menu for late bites and drinks!
Oh man. What a huge disappointment. As a frequent, 2x a week patron of the old Pour George, I am deeply saddened that this is what has come of our beloved bar. Gone are the friendly spirit, unpretentious service, great food, and knowledgeable staff. Gone are the well placed TVs, casual atmosphere, and communal seating. I had my birthday parties here, hosted book clubs here, attended trivia nights here, watched Knicks games here… and now it's all gone and been replaced by an annoyingly average bar.
I came here on a Friday with a large group (we were celebrating a friend visiting from LA) and we were immediately told that we didn't have a reservation. Now, I know for a fact that we called and reconfirmed our reservation at least twice. But nope. They made it seem like a huge deal since we had a group of 10. After some conversation, they said we could be seated in the back room…which, to our surprise, was completely EMPTY. -Tried to make conversation as hostess and asked if it was still the same owner…her reply was that she has no idea what was here before. 🙁 -The water glasses that they placed at our table were completely covered with dishwasher stains. -I asked for a Stella and they thought I said soda, then cava. Probably because the music was obnoxiously loud that no one could hear each other.
Due to being completely parched since we didn't want to drink the water out of sketchy glasses, we left after eating some apps and having 2 rounds of drinks. Went next door to Burger Joint and wished we had started our night there.

Boo they never even play sports… Not a sports bar anymore. What's the point of the TVs???
