This will personally serve as a lesson learned in laziness. My friend and I could have easily walked a few blocks further east to Murray Hill to enjoy a brunch at any of the restaurants in the area. However, the allure of a diner on two street blocks away from my apartment was too much to resist. The result was a mediocre meal plagued with poor service and food. At least being seated outside provided a much welcomed distraction in the form of pedestrians.
The Leo Omelet was soggy and a bit bland, but ketchup masked it effectively! With the infrequent attention that were provided to us, it would appear there was only one waitress tending to the booths inside the diner and the tables outside. Getting a water refill required quite an effort. On the bright side, this was better than my first visit where our table was left unattended for 10-12 minutes after being seated. We just stood up and left.
You've got to suffer the bad to understand what a good diner is on about.
I never expect a diner to be pretty, so was not disappointed on that front. What lets this dump down is the service and attitude of the staff. Even though the place was empty we sat at our table for 10 minutes before being given our menus, with a sigh.
… skipping over the dull aspect of average diner food …
When you have to get up from your seat and wave cash under the nose of the bitch serving you, only to have it snatched out of your hand without a word … seriously, this dump deserves to close down.
