  1. Definitely the best Chinese food in Queens!  My boyfriend and I recently moved to Forest Hills from Fresh Meadows and are no longer in the range for them to deliver to us and it is heartbreaking.  The chicken and broccoli is the best and doesn't skimp on the brown sauce (the best part).  Their vegetable dumplings are out of this world.  They take card over the phone, the service is always friendly, and the affiliate your address to your phone number so they never get lost coming to you.  Although their delivery times are not always consistent, if you catch them on a good day, you usually get your food pretty quick and it's always hot and fresh.  They have excellent sweet and sour chicken and wonton soup too!

  2. I am surprised to see that this place is still open. I used to order from here on the regular for a really long time and everything was great but then all of sudden the service started to get really bad. Took forever to get deliveries, wrong food arrived, when you would call they would yell at you for something that was their fault and we stopped ordering for a while.

Then one day we decided to try again and see if it was any better and no one answered the phone… like ever. We tried and tried and all it did was just ring. We assumed that the place had closed down or something or the number changed. Perhaps they also just have caller ID and don't feel like dealing with us after all the mistakes they made with our orders. Whatever the case is this was once our favorite spot in the neighborhood and now we couldn't order from here if we wanted to.

  3. Surprisingly good.  Did not expect sushi in a place like this but they have sushi!!

Sushi and Sashimi is $1.25 a piece
and regular rolls are $2.75 each

The spicy salmon that I got was not finely chopped or mixed but that's the only complaint I have about that roll.

The sushi pieces were pretty good and also pretty fresh surprisingly.

I mean most sushi places are Chinese owned anyway, so It doesn't even matter that it's in a Chinese take out.

But it just doesn't taste as good as my other local cheap sushi spot TOMO.  I always use TOMO to set my bar for good and cheap sushi because honestly I have not found a place to top it yet at the price that they offer.  The rolls may be cheaper here but the sushi and sashimi is cheaper at TOMO.  The quality is a lot fresher and the dine in experience is also a lot better at TOMO.  They are also no where near the quality of Kyoto.

I will however come here for that quick fix if I don't want to drive out because I'm actually close enough for them to actually deliver.  And hey, they have chinese take out too. Get some General Tso's Chicken and rice along with some sushi. Everyone is happy.

  4. NPK is my favorite neighborhood Chinese take-out.  Brightly-lit, clean, family-run and always playing a ball game I'd be watching at home.  The food I order is ALWAYS fresh.  I never have any problems with grease, the meat is tender (not rubbery), large portions and when I ask them to make a dish SPICY, they deliver! Did i mention they deliver? When friends come over they usually order a bunch of hand or maki rolls.  You can get about 3 rolls for $10 with a miso soup.
Soo……. Why spoil your kitchen when you can roll by Pete's?

  5. I have never tried the sushi here but the Chinese food is great and the delivery service is super fast.

  6. This place has amazing Singapore Chow Mein. (Thin rice noodles with curry flavor and chicken, shrimp, vegetables) I don't often get Chinese take-out, but when I do..this place will be where I'm ordering from. I get this dish a lot so I'm familiar with how it should taste like. One thing that I really like about it is how fresh the shrimps actually taste. The shrimps were also bigger in size than most Chinese restaurants. The noodles were also not too oily, and the curry flavor was just right. Portions are also great! Besides that, I had the Beef and Broccoli which was simply fresh and delicious. In the side, the fried chicken wings were pretty good as well. I couldn't take my chopsticks off the food, it was really great! Fast delivery as well. (Just make sure you ask for plates/utensils if you need them)

  7. I liked Peter's Kitchen because of their cheap sushi but lately, the quality of the sushi has diminished. I usually order for delivery, it takes about 40 minutes to get there. At that time, the sushi is already soggy. Sushi rice is supposed to be chewy, but I don't get that from them anymore. Although the prices of the sushi are still $2.75 each, the size of the pieces are getting smaller. What a huge let down.

I avoid their other dishes. Nothing tastes good. Dishes either taste bland or they're too salty. So whether you want sushi or Chinese takeout, just go elsewhere.

  8. This used to be my neighborhood Chinese takeout restaurant when I lived in Flushing. I've seen this business change owners about three times and undergo new renovations.

Just because the renovations are new doesn't mean that the menu will improve as well. Portions are smaller, but still relatively inexpensive. You could feed a family of four under $40

They also serve sushi. It's just okay. I don't expect much from this place because over the years the food quality has gone down.
