Pretty much your typical neighborhood Americanized Chinese restaurant.
I came here for the very 1st time this past week during lunchtime in search of my guilty pleasure, a 'bootleg'/Americanized Chinese food meal. First off, their menu was long! They had a very long list of items on both their Japanese and Chinese food menus so there's something for everyone here.
After much debate in my head, I went with the Chicken Egg Foo Young lunch special with fried rice and a wonton soup. I waited a bit inside the restaurant for my order to come out so I had a chance to make some quick observations. The restaurant was pretty small, but did have a few tables and seats. They also had a flat screen TV next to the window showing the news. It also didn't look as dingy as many other fast food Chinese restaurants. The sushi 'chef', and I use that term loosely, was absolutely scrambling as sushi orders were flying in! From what I can hear and see, most of their business came from takeout orders as the phone constantly rang.
As for the Chicken Egg Foo Young, there were 3 pieces in the order. The vegetable fried rice was OK, typical of Americanized Chinese restaurants. Same could be said for the Egg Foo Young. However, the Egg Foo Young brown sauce was a bit off. First, I noticed the lighter color of it. Second, the taste was not the best either. It's hard to describe what it tasted like, but it was different than what I had experienced.
Overall, the food was cheap and they don't ever seem extremely busy when I pass by. The food didn't take long to come out and the quality was standard compared to its competitors. It was a major plus that their menu was super long and they had variety, including another menu just for sushi.
I tried this place on a recommendation from a friend who likes their food, and usually their delivery times are super. I used the yelp app to order online for delivery. The food prices are pretty reasonable. The delivery time said 60 minutes, which I thought was a bit long, however, the food arrived in about 30 minutes.
I had my usual cream cheese wontons which were hot and fresh, super cheesy. I also tried the beef and broccoli, which had a bit too much sauce, and not nearly enough broccoli, and what broccoli was there was super hard and crunchy, not really even cooked. The beef was good though. In addition we tried the boneless beef ribs which were actually better than other places in the area, the beef was moist, with just the right amount of crisp, and the sauce wasn't too oily. Woohoo! If they can maintain their delivery times, this will be my new go to chinese place.
