“the Lollipop chicken had the right amount of seasoning and flavor , I wish the calamari had more flavor tho .”

  1. Really good Thai food with the exception of the Rama Dish which was way too sweet and I didn't like it at all. The waitress, who is also the store owner's wife, was very honest and told me it was either a hit or miss with that item but I took my chances. The drunken noodle, pad see ew, and spicy basil were all delicious. The Thai iced tea was much sweeter than I'm used to but once again the waitress was very accommodating and tried watering it down for me since it comes pre-sweetened. I was disappointed with the vanilla fried ice cream because the fried dough was too thick and tasted like oil so I definitely wouldn't get that here again, but the food was good overall and the restaurant had a nice ambiance. I would come here again.

  2. I have never been fully satisfied with the Thai places I have visited in New York (or elsewhere, for that matter).  I suppose it has to do with the limited dishes I could order from a Thai place since I don't eat pork.  This place satisfies what I yearn for – an exotic meal without having to worry (too much) about what I am eating.

It's not ust a Thai restaurant that serves halal food – its a pretty damn good Thai restaurant, with that aside.  Everything is made to degree of heat intensity and is flavorful.  Prices are reasonable.  Parking a little bit of a challenge – even on a weekday as this place is very popular.  I have been there twice – and will return.

  3. I'm impressed! It's been awhile since I had Thai food that I wasn't disappointed in, and I will definitely be ordering from here again.

We ordered the appetizer sampler that comes with two spring rolls, four wonton wrapped fried shrimp, two dumplings, and two curry chicken dumplings. I didn't like the spring rolls at all and I couldn't figure out what it was about them that I didn't like. Everything else was good, the standout being the curry chicken. Really flavorful! They also give you three sauces (soy, sweet chili, and a cucumber/red onion). I love sauces, love dipping things, and love a place that puts that much effort into delivery.

The boy ordered the tamarind duck and neither of us were into it. While the flavor was nice and slightly sweet the texture was oddly chewy.

The pad kee mao (drunken noodles on their menu) was solid. Tender shrimp, crisp peppers and onion. I would have liked it to be slightly saucier but that's my only real complaint. They also gave it a decent amount of spice for someone whose never ordered from them before.

They did charge me a $3 delivery fee on Seamless, but I do live far, so I'm not sure if that's standard.

  4. Having tried most of the Thai restaurants in Forest Hills, we decided to venture out a bit. Nur Thai had the most reviews and was most consistently rated high. We ordered our usual chicken pad thai and tofu pad see ew. We also ordered the pineapple fried rice and tom yum soup. While the pad thai and pad see ew was better than any place in Forest Hills, the pineapple fried rice was kind of bland and the tom yum soup was mediocre (and not worth ordering).

Nur Thai is definitely our new go-to Thai spot (when we feel like driving!)!

  5. Stuffed myself solid here after a super long day. Ordered the Duck Basil and my dining partner ordered the Pad See Ew with beef. I also had the Lemongrass Soup with Shrimp which was exactly what my clogged sinuses needed – I CAN BREATHE!

There are SUPER healthy sized portions here and I was so surprised with this find. I was so happy to stop in. The dessert (Fried Ice Cream) left a little something to be desired. There was a strange ratio of fried dough to somewhat bland ice cream, and the fried bananas weren't so much fried bananas, as they were turon and they were kinda strange. Also, the sauce drizzle (which we learned were cotton candy and cream sickle) was an interesting and colorful addition.

The venue is super clean, bathed in deep purple paint and has some lights that remind you a disco ball coming down from the gilded ceiling which all makes you tilt you head from one side to the other but I will NOT complain when the food is that awesome.

  6. Appetizers: we had their spring rolls, firecracker shrimp and lollipop chicken (not a fan of the sauce it came with , everything was served piping hot, came in small portions relative to their price, tasted really good (firecracker shrimp were our favorite) but we might have to try the other appetizers to see what's better, read rave reviews about their chicken satay, dumplings and wings but we'll have to try it and see. 3.5/5

Main course: basil fried rice, spicy basil chicken and their rack of lamb with massaman curry, all were 5/5 on taste, flavor, presentation, portions are a tad small but make up for it in terms of taste, will definitely be back to have this and sample even more!

Dessert: we had their fried ice cream and their molten lava cake with green tea ice cream, both were really good but we were too stuffed from our meal to actually enjoy the dessert 4/5

Drinks:  mint mojito and Thai ice tea, both were perfect! 5/5!

Super friendly staff and the owner/chef? even came out to ask us if everything was okay and was asking for honest feedback, hope this establishment does well and lasts!

  7. Very cute and cozy halal-Muslim-Thai restaurant. We came in around 230 pm for lunch and was seated quickly. Because this is a halal-Muslim restaurant, no alcohol, which is fine by me.

We started with a passion fruit mojito. Great flavor and taste. Refreshing and tasty. Lots of fresh lime and mint. A must order.

We also had the lollipop chicken which was a pass. They stripped the chicken off the bones and minced it with a lot of fluff. Then reformed the chicken into balls and fried it. In addition, we had the spring rolls. Crispy outside. Not oily. Served with sweet spicy dipping. The spring rolls were filled with glass noodles and various veggies. Delicious.

My boyfriend had the drunken noodle with chicken. Lots of flavor and great chew to the noodles. I had the tofu broccoli in garlic sauce with a side of jasmine rice. Not bad. Lots of garlic. Too much black pepper. I would come back!

  8. Came here the other day to pickup some lunch for take away. I have been wanting to try them out for a while since there isn't really any other Thai restaurants in the area (at least not what I know of). Anyways, i got their lunch special: salad, spring roll with tofu pad Thai – ONLY $8!! Really great value. My husband got the same lunch special but with panang curry with tofu. The noodles were definitely the better choice between the two.

My only complaint was that there was one slimy piece of lettuce in my salad *crying* – I know, it isn't the end of the world…. But that's also why I only give them 4/5 instead of a 5 star review.
