Pretty delicious little jewel in the midst. Creative decor and $$ pricing.
As I went with my boyfriend, as we do not eat much, we just ordered one appetizer and a entree.
Calamari – was pretty normal, nothing special. With the bread that they gave, mmmm, tasty!
We got a salad with the steak we ordered. Salad was somewhat salty – most likely because of the sauce but tasty.
Steak – was delicious! Although it took a while for it to come out, me and my bf finished every bite.
Been here a week or so ago with a friend. He told me it's been open for almost 6 months already, but I never heard of it and I live in the same neighborhood.
Well, first off the food was delicious! This joint's claim is that they use extra virgin olive oil with everything, which apparently makes everything "diet" and "lite". I'm not sure if the science behind that is factual, but the food me and my friend got wasn't the typical greasy and fatty foods you would find at most Greek spots. I had chicken soulvaki on a bed of brown rice and I squeezed half a lemon on top of it all and it was awesome. Before that I had the Greek salad which was good and they brought out hot pita bread and fresh tzatsiki sauce. The chef even brought out some stuff for us to try: it was stuffed grape leaves (domades) but with some sauce on top of it….it was delicious as well. The menu isn't too lengthy, it's only one page, front and back, but they have all your Greek favorites.
The interior is nice, not to plain but not too tacky either. It's a single row of about 7-9, 4 seating tables and all the way in the back there are some more tables. With most tables, you are right across from where the food is prepared and you have a birds eye view of what is going on at the grill. The waitress and manager/owner are super friendly as well. Hopefully this place stays open because there really isn't another good Greek place in this area.
My sister and brother in law decided to drop in one day and bring lunch from Mediterranean Grill. I opted for the Gyro platter–basically my only go-to for any and all Greek places. I thought the meat was very well seasoned with just the right amount–I get really turned off when it's over-seasoned. The taziki also had a very light but savory taste. I liked how the food was not too greasy or heavy like other take out Greek food places sometimes are. I think this will be our new go-to Greek food place!
I try to come here every chance I get.. they have really great food here I highly recommend the sweet chili calamari and salmon here.. You won't regret it. The staff is very professional and polite.
This place is THE best restaurant in the area.. There is not one thing on the menu you won't enjoy.. The quality of the food is top notch and service is great.. The chef is amazing and makes homemade pastas.. He also sometimes has fish on the menu that he caught himself!
This place is not fancy schmancy , but if you want a taste of the Mediterranean you are in good hands here . Came here on a Saturday night before 7 with my boyfriends family for dinner hoping to find something new and exciting. We were seated immediately and it got packed really quickly. While this place is fancier then a diner, this restaurant is simple and has a very home-y feeling too it. There was a decent amount of seating with no reservations needed, it is not a huge place but it can seat at least 50 people. When you sit down you can start off any one of their daily specials or wine and beer and you are given a basket of pita with Tzatziki dip free of charge. This place should be known just for their Tzatziki sauce alone that's how much I loved it, I wanted to pour it over everything!!!
Now the menu itself has both Italian and greek items , which is not surprising since these countries are close to the sea. I saw items from chicken franchese, chicken parm, fried or grilled calamari, octopus, salmon, stuffed tomatoes, stuffed chicken, gyros, moussaka, souvlaki, grilled steak entrees, lamb entrees, pork entrees, burgers , and various salads and sandwiches. Most of these were moderately priced from 12-20 dollars coming with two sides of soup, salad, veggies, potatoes for dinner entrees or fries / lemon potatoes for wraps and sandwiches [they even have really good lunch deals]. The zucchini chips we ordered which came breaded with the Tzatziki dip was very tasty and not too heavy or oily, and the seasoning was good but some chips were not as crunchy as others so that doesn't really make me feel like I am eating a chip. The Mesculin Salad with walnuts, apples, cranberries and goat cheese was an interesting combination that I have never seen before, it looked pleasant and was a decent portion actually. I didn't have a chance to try it but I liked how healthy it was and unique. My boyfriend's sister was raving about the Romanian steak wraps here with caramelized onions with regular or whole options and it comes with fried potatoes or lemon potatoes, and when I saw how hefty it was for only $12 dollars I was impressed. She said she could literally eat it all the time or have it over a salad and not get tired of it then it is worth trying!. Only complaint was that it had too much oil.
I ordered the grilled beef burger stuffed with herbs and feta cheese chunks, which came with a salad and lemon potatoes . I loved the lemon potatoes [It was my first time trying that] and I fell in love. The seasoning was awesome, the burgers were lean and huge, too bad it didn't come with actual buns… tasty but misleading! I decided to get a side of the Tzatziki dip again because it complimented the meat so well and pretty much everything else on the menu.
My boyfriends grilled chicken platter which came with lemon pepper soup [he loved for a decent portion] and salad was very tasty and good quality in terms of the meat, but it was a rather small portion. The grilled steak that my boyfriend's father ordered had a good presentation but again it was very small, he said it did taste good but if you have a big appetite this dish isn't for you.
I have to admit when the dessert platter display came out my eyes popped out my head, the various cakes looked amazing but I just couldn't stomach it, I would love to try that next time.
What holds me back from giving me 5 stars is the service, the waitress was extremely friendly but it took way too long for our food to come, it was to the point that waiting between the appetizer and entrée we became full, I hate it when that happens. I also felt like some of the portions are smaller then I expected for some items, like shouldn't the steak which cost more be larger then the steak wrap ?. Just some things on this menu are not what I expected after reading the description, hopefully my review will give customers some insight. However for the taste and price, it is worth another visit! I can't wait to try the rest of the menu here 🙂
