  1. Italy meets Bayonne! The best sandwiches with such an amazing group of guys serving you.

  2. Great deli. I have been here a few times over the last few years. The owner likes to chat, which is fine by me. You come in here for the first time and you will feel like a regular and be treated like a regular.

Great cold cuts and cheeses and an assortment of bread that you pick out for your sandwich. Great old school deli!

  3. Terrific place, it's worth the drive if you're out of the area.  They cut the meats properly (ie thinly), and the Hudson County vibe (pick your roll from several baskets-is that done anywhere else in NJ?) is unmistakeable.  Every sandwich has a bit of love.  No prices, though, and sometimes the sandwich will cost $9 or $10 depending on who makes it-for the hot or sweet Italian combo!  Try to go on a Wednesday afternoon when the Bayonne Farmers Market is up the street for a good double dip.  They also sell a big container of meatballs and sauce for $10 (recently up from $9) that works when you don't have time to make your own.

  4. If you are looking for the best sandwiches and imported Italian pastas, cookies, cheeses, etc this is the place for you.  Had a monster sandwich with fresh mozzarella, prosciutto, cappacola, roasted peppers, oil & basalmic vinegar.  It was so large I could only finish half.  This is old school with the meats and cheeses hanging from the ceiling.  Local deli about 40 years old.

  5. Whenever I crave a sandwich – I  go to Benanti's.  GREAT little neighborhood Italian deli. Call in advance and order or be prepared to wait – long lines. I have NOT found deli like this anywhere else I've lived.

  6. As soon as you walk into this place, you can smell the authenticity in the air.  This is a prime spot for authentic Italian sandwiches. Every time I visit Bayonne, I have to stop at this deli for lunch.  You pick the fresh baked Italian bread, then you wait on line with other dedicated people to have your sandwich made. While you wait, you can't help but stare at the fresh cheeses hanging on the wall, and smell the meats and the cheeses mixing together perfectly to make you salivate for your food.  Not to mention the other Italian delicacies this place offers. Sauce, meatballs, and several European products from soda to cookies can be found at this location.  The best part? The taste of the authenticity when you take a bite out of your sandwich! Not to mention, they barely speak English, which in my opinion is just fine, as long as they never stop serving up big, fat, delicious Italian subs.

  7. Awesome, huge fresh Italian hero. You know it's going to be good when the two guys behind the counter and arguing with one another in Italian. The fresh mozz and prosciutto were awesome. The bread was just the right amount of crust. A little expensive, but worth it for the quality ingredients and size. Enjoy!
