very small portions for a chipotle, maybe they are practicing cost cutting? food is typical fare for chipotle, always decently fresh. People are fairly friendly for the area.
typical chipotle food and quality
only gripe is the extremely long line
and the workers who are always rushing you
so they can get more people in and out.
the place feels overwhelmed with the lunch rush.
terrible seating arrangements.
Your average Chipotle, fairly quick service and good option near the hospital for lunch. Not going to get into specifics, you know what u want when u go to chipotle. But in terms of venue, take out from this location is definitely preferable as space is limited.
**One small thing, near the condiment station where you grab your chipotle sauce to go, every time I've gone they are always out of the little cups u can use to take away lemon wedges, sauces, etc. They'll replace them at the front immediately, but its just a little bit of inconvenience. just an FYI.
OVERALL: not a bad place to grab lunch to go near the hospital.
Three stars just because it it Chipotles. The bowl was made just right, just as I asked no bells and whistles. This location is surrounded by a major job for docs and nurses from the areas surrounding hospitals and they frequent here very often, most days the line is spilling into the sidewalk with people in hospital scrubs. Today was no different, the line was ridiculous, like outside the door @1:00 pm in the afternoon, it took about 15 minutes for me to reach the counter, but I must admit the staff was friendly and moved at the speed of light.
Seriously, I do not see how anyone could sit and eat in that location in comfort its just too congested to sit and enjoy your lunch.
I've been to this chipotle approximately a billion times since it is right by the subway exit and is a quick fix for dinner in a neighborhood with limited options.
Being Chipotle the lines are, expectedly, long. That being said-they do move pretty quickly until the check out which for some reason is always the slowest part. I've had my burrito straight up stolen by someone else at the checkout line and then had to wait for them to remake it. I wouldn't mention this except that it has happened more than once.
Also they always seem to be out of something. Sometimes it is lettuce. Sometimes it is rice. Sometimes it is beans. But if there are short lines, you can bet it is because they are lacking some ingredient pivotal to the deliciousness of their burritos.
The food is good, it is Chipotle after all, but they need better management so that they don't run out of ingredients all the time and so that the person working the cash register doesn't stop cashing people out in favor of filling bags with tortilla chips.
In short: expect a line and to go home sans the exact burrito you were craving.
This isn't like other chipotles– they know people will keep coming here though their attempt is mediocre at best. They excel at being in only chipotle around the med campus. Dassit.
I mean what is there to say, they're always out of hot sauces or utensils or a certain meat. They usually have a heavy hand with salt. I get this is fast food but you can really taste when they went overboard at this location. Also their staff just does not take pride in their work.
Upside? They deliver and can cater for large groups around the Med campus.
Horrendous location. Shitty, just like every other chain that exists in Washington Heights. If they could just a) get through my order without trying to put things I did not ask for on my food and b) roll a burrito properly, then MAYBE they could get two stars.
This is the tiniest chipotle I've been in. That being said it's not the best location to be hanging around in. Best to grab your food in go. The workers here seem nice enough.
If your vegetarian or vegan keep an eye out for your burrito bowl, despite using different ladles for the food items there were many close calls!
