This place is your typical Mom & Pop shop. This is family owned and they make some killer sandwiches! It's a small Deli place in the middle of S Ozone Park. Never knew this was here. We came here based on Yelp reviews for sandwiches. Cute little shop, i ordered a Roast Turkey Special sandwich and my bf got Maria's Italian Combo. BTW you can find these on the Yelp pictures. So mines was very good and filing. My BF got his with sweet peppers and a coffee. He loved it! Said all the meats compliment each other and the sweet peppers add a different flavor. My only issue is all these little deli's around here close early 🙁 i understand why but sometimes when craving a good sandwich…have to wait until the next day 🙁
Give them a try! They are good!
I can remember coming here almost every day when I worked at JFK airport, 20 plus years have come and gone, seems like only yesterday, literally a blur. Maria, John and Diego are still here to greet you warmly. Biordi's is the quintessential local Italian delicatessen.
I can still remember Diego making me a nice "Ham and Swiss with mayo, lettuce and tomato hero" I would then proceed over to Saint Anthony's Roman Catholic Church across the street from the deli and sit in the car in the church parking lot and eat my lunch.
Airport, transit, NYPD, sanitation, and workers of all kinds still line up here everyday for some good wholesome grub. Let me tell you something, they still make one hell of a potato and egg sandwich and during the cooler months, nice hot food to warm your soul.
There is a small picnic table in the back of the store for you to sit and eat, but it is first come first squat basis. A small round table with a couple of plastic chairs are available in the front of the store, but you would usually see these seats occupied by a couple of local "old timers" that have been coming here for years, mind you, these old timers were the same old timers during the days I was going here!
A trip back to memory lane, everything is still so familiar, down to the faded storefront sign and interior decor. We all have aged and grayed a bit, but the excitement and joy of discovery is still there for me, 20 plus years later and probably another 20 more.
