  1. I love it here.

I have had a lot of gyros and middle eastern food in my lifetime, and this place is amazing. Cash only. $5 for gyros or falafel. $1 per samosa (I've had meat and veggie both are great, but the meat is better). Lots of toppings, they make keep the food fresh but making what they need as you order instead of letting it sit around. Nice people that work here, and they remember you. All in all, super great place and experience.

  2. I am actually astonished at how I don't have a review posted for this place! This spot has been around for a few years now, when it first opened I was a bit wary, but over the years I have come to love this place! I would come home really late from concerts, events, etc, and this would be the only place open. I grew to rely on them, as they have falafel, my all time favorite dish. The first time I came here was with my dad, and we ordered some stuff to bring home. I got a falafel sandwich, and he got two orders of chicken and rice. I was pleasantly surprised, as the falafel was really really good. You also get to pick salad options; they usually have different lettuce, peppers, pickles, and sauces- it changes weekly. The price has gone up, from $5-6, but I don't mind paying an extra dollar for falafel I can't get at the cart.
Since I have been here so many times, I am good friends with the staff; they are courteous, remember my orders, and overall very friendly especially at 2-3am! The only thing I have noticed after coming here so many times is the quality has fluctuated. Sometimes the chickpeas were too hard and were either sitting out too long or not fully cooked. They sometimes don't cook the falafel for long enough, and it ends up being soggy and breaking apart- so you need to tell them to fry it for longer.
This is still the only reliable late night spot, the munchie spot, and the falafel spot all in one!

  3. the lunchtime installment of payment for doing repairs at my parents' house ended up being Gyro King! I had passed this place many times back in the day when I lived at home, but never stopped in until now.

my dad and I had intended to go to the cart on the opposite corner, but that guy was out of falafel, so here I ended up.

ordered 2 falafel sandwiches. $4.00 each ("my friend, I give you good price!" as some Yelpers have been privy to hear me say) for 5 spheres of falafel on a huge pita; threw in some salad, some hot peppers, red sauce, white sauce, and a bit of hummus. the price was right, and service was fast and friendly.

what I liked was how it was somewhat similar to how Subway and some other places array all your options in front of you: various salad types, peppers, onions, sauces, etc and let you pick.

when we got home, I demolished the whole thing. falafel was crispy and flavorful, and the sauces had mixed into one epic taste-gasm.

HAIL TO THE GYRO KING, BABY!

  4. I'd love to actually review their food but they canceled my seamless order stating I didn't meet the minimum. My order was about $12 (above their $10 minimum) and they waited 35 minutes to cancel it so I sat here hungry the whole time.
