For me, it's an "a-ok" place. I would not go here on purpose. I would just stop by if I was looking for a super duper quick and cheap meal. It's one of those Chinese-pick-3-(or-4)-entree places. You get to pick it from their wide array of buffet items and they will place it onto a white rice lunch box. All the food is ready-made waiting for you to pick them. Price is $5.25 (?) for 3 entree items and $5.95 for 4 items.
I had the 4 items because it's just so cheap. I had lunch the next day too. SCORE!
Is the place gourmet? NO WAY JOSE. Is worth the price? YES! Are the tables clean…not where we sat but they will clean it for you if you ask them. It's cafeteria style eating so you have to just find an empty seat to eat your food at.
I am not crazy about their paying system…it's horrible..they hold your food ransom, you get a ticket, pay at the cashier, your card gets stamped and then you have to get someone's attention to give you your food…hello…they are constantly helping new people get their lunchbox ready..HELLO…CAN I GET MY FOOD?! There were people standing there waving their paid tickets for attention to get their food. Their system is RIDICULOUS.
They sell dim sum here but as a take out type of place. It's not really a dim sum house per se.
Heck, they got an A….$6 which potentially can last two meals and an A?!?! MIC DROP….
This new restaurant is currently quite crowded. As a Chinese fast food place it is decent enough. There are many choices, from dim sum to noodles and sweets. The flavor is average, not bad, and of course for their affordable price you won't expect very high.
3.5 stars
A few weeks ago we tried their lunch/dinner combos. $5.25 3 items with rice or $5.95 four items with rice. It comes with winter melon soup I think. Im not a huge fan of eating buffet style food, anything that sits around for too long makes me feel all weirded out, but…I noticed they had braised pork belly which L loves. So we got 4 items, the pork belly, sweet & sour chicken, short ribs, and some fish fillets. They gave me a lot of fish, but I didn't really like the sauce it was in. Sweet and sour chicken was pretty good, short ribs were great, but not a lot of meat since they have bones. The pork belly was so good, but fatty. I still got sick in the end, but maybe my body just can't handle too much Chinese food? I also had some dim sum for lunch. Depending on the item and time, the food might not sit around too long since there seems to be a lot of customers.
I still think this is the best place so far for Har Gow. The shrimps are huge. My parents really like their chicken baos. They're massive and 1 might feed both of them!
I stopped by for the 1st time dinner and it was just ok. Previous visits were just for lunch or a quick snack. My experience was not great…
Groups of people kept streaming in so if you are slow on the line they will jump ahead of you.
There is no waiting. I only took extra seconds to decide if I wanted 3 or 4 items with my combo dish.
Sometimes the items are very similar and I came decide.
Paying for the food is a little challenging too. Once they print you a bill you have wait on the second line to go to the cashier.
After you paid the cashier will stamp your bill and you now must swine upstream against the other people waiting to pay their bills.
When you make it back to the food station that issue your bill you have to get the attention of someone to take your stamped receipt and find your food.
If it is crowded it can be a mess of shouting people and shouting servers.
The one non-Asian man that was in front of me was so confused by the payment system he started screaming for help. No one acknowledge because most of the people who work there do not speak English well enough to help.
He finally was able to get his food after I told him what to do.
Food is just ok.
Table are sometimes dirty and there isn't enough room to move around between the tables and the place needs a good cleaning.
Got take out on numerous occasions from this restaurant.
Lunch and Dinner for $5.25 pick three items and rice or $5.95 pick four items with rice for $5.95. So much fun to look at the options. From Bok Choy to Clams to fish and mixed vegetable. Something for everyone. Price is reasonable and really a great deal. Did not super size it this time and went for the three items with rice. Staff will give you a ticket then you go to the cash register to pay them and bring back paid ticket where your meal is all bagged up for you.
There are tables and chairs for you to sit an enjoy your meal.
Also there is a counter area where there is Dim Sum. Like their selection. Go early for many popular items are sold out. Like the sticky rice (yummy filling- like a meal itself) wrapped with leaves. Yeah! Got the last one.
Fun part about Dim Sum is trying many of the dishes and experiencing the flavors and textures. As well as figuring out what the hidden treasures are when it come to the filling.
Other counter by the door on the left hand side as you walk in is the hanging chicken, duck and pork. They go by 1/2 a pound and up.
Have not been to other stations or counters toward the right side. Think I saw sushi and juicing. Will be back for those the next time around.
I was craving dim sum and gave this place a shot. It is cash only and they don't take card by the way. I thought that while the food was affordable, they must have put a lot of msg because I was super thirsty after. Also, my stomach don't feel that good.
