This is a Guyanese restaurant in Queens with an emphasis on Guyanese Chinese cuisine. I tried a couple dishes from here.
-Jerk Chicken Chow Mein – The noodles are just like they are at a Chinese takeout, except that they were slightly spicy because of the jerk flavor. The chicken was the best part. The pieces of chicken were succulent with slightly crispy skin and had this nice sweet and spicy taste to them. I highly recommend trying this dish.
-Curry Goat: This dish was not as good. The pieces of meat seem microwaved and were hard and rubbery as a result. The portion of meat given was also a bit small. I had this with a big piece of dhall puri (white rice also available).
Guy Chi (Guyanese Chinese) food here. Jerk chicken is fabulous but I was not impressed by their fried rice. Some of the veggies tasted frozen and they added too much onion that was still a bit raw (and I LOVE onion). Chicken curry was fabulous but I didn't really see much of a difference with other curries I've had before that were not Guyanese style. Get their Puri. It has some smashed lentils in it.
Crazy decor. Would like to come back with a huge crowd and enjoy the Christmas lights, fun music and drinks.
My husband and i come here when we need a quick sit down, west Indian bite to eat. We mostly get the house special fried rice and house special lo mein. Prices are reasonable and big portions as well. Food is tasty but we have not tried much variations. Decor had good intentions but needs a renovation.
Very simple order and we received enough for seconds, and thirds. I have been here a ton of times. It's my secret date spot. Perfect, reasonably priced food. Decent atmosphere and close to numerous escape routes 😉
Most recently I went here yesterday with my daughter we ordered the mango chili chicken with fried rice and the house lo mein. A side of puhlorie (naan with chickpeas in the dough) with curry sauce completed the meal. We were in heaven! My daughter loves it here and our waitress was super friendly. All of that for less than $30?! Plus after our thirds we took home two full take home boxes. Lol
