According to a friend of mine, this restaurant used to offer good Cantonese food. Not sure if it is under new management, but it certainly has just gone through renovated since everything is relatively new.
We ordered a few dishes for family style with a couple of my friends. They were simply… Ok. Except the fish and tofu casserole was the worse as it was lacking fish. Of the few fish pieces that was in it, they had a VERY thick layer of flour. Their desserts on the other hand, weren't bad.
The service was ok since we were the only customers there.
I would not come back, since there isn't a shortage of Cantonese restaurants in Chinatown.
Walked in to a pretty empty resturant. The inside was pretty nice. Nothing much seemed bad. Had a TV on decent size.
The food was decent nothing really special.
Service was decent again didn't really do anything special.
I remember when this place was called Yogee Noodle a while back ago. I guess they changed their name because of new ownership? Nevertheless, I still come here for their famous beef noodles.
The beef noodle are an all time favorite for me here as it provides a temporary euphoric feeling from the cold that's about to hit us. It's so good that I'll even eat it after the noodles have soaked up all the broth and it's all soggy (My mom brought take-out from here a few times to take home and that happened lol.) The radishes and fatty parts of the beef stew are my favorite and I often like to drench my soup in Siracha sauce to give it a little spice.
If the beef noodle soups aren't your forte, the you can't go wrong with the congee here. If you're not into traditional Cantonese foods, then they also have a variety of Americanized dishes like the black pepper steak with spaghetti and tomato sauce which also happens to be my favorite here.
Aside from that, I've never really had problems with the service and food here. The restaurant is generally kept clean and there are TVs all around to keep you occupied as you wait for your food.
Would I be back? I've already been here copious times.
Ordered delivery from here and also sat in to eat. They used to be called Yogee Noodle but they changed their name to East Noodle Village. I think that they are still run by the same boss though.
Going back years, they have been really known for their beef brisket noodle soups and I have to agree that it is my favorite from there. The soup is nice with a deep beef flavor. The noodles mesh really nicely with the soup. The beef is cooked in a soup so the flavor isn't so strong. So their beef brisket on rice is not recommended as much. Definitely get it with the noodles in soup.
They have a lot of other stuff here that's worth to try. All of their price ranges are fair and even though prices have raised in the past few years, all the restaurants have to raise their prices in New York cause of increased rent, and cost of supplies and ingredients.
Anyways definitely check this place out and get their beef brisket in noodle with soup if are in the area.
