Ate here for the first time since it changed owners a while back. The decor is interesting and upscale but very dimly lit.
As for the food, they wouldn't modify anything on the menu for me and forced me to get a large order which was actually very small for a large. The sauce left a lot to be desired and wasn't good on my tofu and it was very strange for brown sauce. The food was mediocre and expensive. Will never go back.
Great service! They have tasty sushi, great wonton soup and delicious fried/white rice. I love going to this place because with some chinese food restaurants certain dishes are a hit or miss. However, the tasty house is pretty spot on. Everything they offer is pretty good including the general tsu's chicken, sweet and sour chicken, sesame chicken, boneless ribs, soup, egg rolls, and lobster sauce. Definitely order from them sometime 🙂
Tasty House is the reason why I love Yelp. If I wasn't a member, I would never have known that this place existed so near to my home.
I saw a check-in, checked out the other reviews, bookmarked it and made it a point to try them out before it became a distant memory. Very happy to have taken the few minutes to do so.
Hubby and I took the ten minute drive to try them out. I had some Tom Yum soup with shrimp which was very soothing on the cold night we chose to dine here. Hubby had the White Meat Sesame Chicken for his main and I had the Pad Thai. Both were very good. They dining area is very intimate but worth staying to dine in. They have multiple delivery people which is just a great plus.
I am kind of kicking myself in the bum for forgetting to ask if they deliver to my neck of the woods. I must call them. Soon.
Yum!
This place does both Chinese food and sushi. They have lunch deals for sushi with 2 rolls with soup or salad or a can of cola for $8 (plus tax) and then 3 rolls with soup or salad or can of cola for $11. I usually did the 2 rolls plus soup on cold days or salad on hot days. Their lunch deals on the Chinese food are pretty good too. All of the dishes are in the range of $6 (but some are as cheap as $4).
The sushi is pretty fresh and yummy, though sometimes they weren't made well and would fall apart when I was trying to eat it. The owners did start to recognize me as I went there more and more regularly (since I work just across the street) so they would be a little more generous with the amount of fillings they put in my rolls, which was nice.
I never got much Chinese food from here. I think once or twice I got the chicken with green beans and garlic sauce. You get a choice of white rice, brown rice, or fried rice. I got the brown rice, which was surprisingly fluffy and good (because brown rice can often be too dry). The chicken was good too, but like all Chinese food, it made me feel slow and heavy and unhealthy afterwards.
Overall, it's an easy place to get lunch and the prices are really reasonable.
