We were about to hop on the bus back to DC, so we stopped across the street at this little deli to grab enough liquids to last us for a week (yes, we're getting on a bus for 4.5 hours and one would think that limiting our liquid intake as to prevent the need to use the bathroom on the bus would be wise, but we never said we were wise). And boy, was there a selection of beverages! Besides the standard waters and sodas and typical name brand juices, there were the smaller "indy label" beverages…such "Synergy Organic and Raw" which caught my husband's eye for being so pretty and well designed.
We get up the counter, and the guy ringing us up saw the Synergy and started to crack up. He proceeds to tell us how foul and disgusting it is, and how he only tried it because he was told it was good for him. He also wished my husband luck. Haha…hilarious!
The guy was not wrong. As soon as we got on the bus, piqued by the guy's…uhhh…"ringing" endorsement, my husband couldn't wait to crack the Synergy drink open…and proceeded to regret the moment he was ever lured in by the design. He kindly offered me a taste, but one whiff of the ginger infused swamp water convinced me that I was just fine sticking to my MASH grapefruit water, which was quite tasty and fragarent.
Hilarious little deli with a great selection of beverages. Will definitely be visiting them again the next time I'm in need of a good laugh and liquid refreshment.
