  1. Gigantic deli with a prime location. Sushi, salads, sammies, s-pizza… it's all here under one roof. Prices are high, but worth it for an on/off experience with the LIE. Good luck when it's crowded though, so make sure to come at off hours. The ordering system is a bit weird and it seems like you might get forgotten in the crowd… until they call on you to order. If you have an impulse purchase problem, good luck here. There are gourmet chips, chocolates and snacks at every corner. Just accept the fact you're coming home with some jalapeño kettle chips and probably a chocolate covered pretzel along with your regular order. In the end, KK is a perfect spot for a sammie to-go before a road trip or before braving the traffic into NYC. A step above the average deli for sure.

  2. Prices are a bit steep, but well worth it. I've been coming here for years and years and never had a ad experience. The place offers much more than just your typical deli fare. My favorite is the omelette station. You can choose your ingredients and egg or egg whites. Prices now (because of the "egg crisis") are 9.99, but the omelette is worth it. The deli section offers variety of pre made food and sandwiches. There's also a chopped salad bar. I like that they have a ton of pre made for to grab and go, like salads and parfaits and sandwiches. It's easier in the morning when I'm on my way to work to just grab something than to wait. The coffee bar is also notable and yummy. The location is great too, right off the service road. I have to also compliment the staff for always being friendly and fast, even at 6 in the morning!

  3. Came here on my way to work because I couldn't stand the thought of getting breakfast at Greenvale Bagels. Regretting not trying this place sooner! I was a little overwhelmed stepping into this grand deli, there are many sections… egg stations, hot food, baked goods, deli, coffee. I didn't know where to begin.

So I started at the coffee station. I got myself an iced hazelnut cinnamon, foregoing the 5 dollar frozen coffee beverage that initially peaked my interest. I wasn't disappointed. Then I headed over to the deli section where I ordered a breakfast wrap with pastrami, it was good, not the best I've had though. I decided to also get a double chocolate chip muffin, which was hands down the best one I've ever eaten. OMG, the kind, helpful man, asked me if I wanted it toasted, with butter. I think I blacked out for a second because I was so excited.

I def looked lost as hell in here, but if you have some time, allow yourself to wander around and get a feel for all this awesome place has to offer. Oh and bring like double the amount of money than you would at a regular deli.

  4. Definitely a great deli/gourmet spot.

Great variety of gourmet sandwiches, pizza, omelettes, sushi, salads.

    Just a bit… overpriced.

Also their ticket purchase system is annoying. Feel that the place could be arranged a little better.

Solid lunch spot for Roslyn/Port area. Just take your stuff to go, because it gets stupid busy in there with the "usual" locals.

  5. Kitchen Kabaret… oh how I like you. Although expensive you are totally worth the money.

Had some stuff to do a couple of weekends ago in the area and wound up here for late breakfast/early lunch. I wound up getting some eggs and hash browns. Although the eggs could've been cooked more to my liking the hash browns were delightful with the hot sauce I put on them. Hot sauce and hash browns are my thang… don't judge. Cholula for the win!

Anyway do not come here if you're ravenous and a foodie cause you'll want everything. Trust me… I've splurged in the past. Mostly everything I've had from here was delicious.

Also the iced coffee was damn good. So damn good. Wish I had came sooner when I used to take the LIE to get off at Glen Cove Road for when I was working in Nassau. Oh well c'est la vie. Now when I'm in the area I'll come in as a treat for iced coffee and other goodies.

So if you're hankering for something good but a little pricy and you're on the LIE it's worth getting off at Glen Cove Road and turning in.

  6. Kitchen Kabaret is a Roslyn staple. Everyone in Roslyn has been to Kitchen Kabaret. It's the scene of all scenes in Roslyn and they do have a wide variety of food options. There's a salad/sandwich section where you can get many different kinds of pasta salads or there's many options of sandwiches they've created/you can create your own. There's also a wrap and salad bar where you can make your own. There's a smoothy bar, a coffee bar, and also a pizza bar.

I usually always order a chicken caesar salad wrap. I do happen to really enjoy the wrap I order at Kitchen Kabaret. The iced coffee on the other hand is not so great. I don't love the coffee they serve. It's sometimes a little bit watery/not very strong.

The thing is about Kitchen Kabaret is that it's EXTREMELY overpriced. Everyone in Roslyn still goes and doesn't seem to care, but it's a bit ridiculous. You're lucky if you get out of there to grab something quick for less than $15 dollars.

  7. Good food selection. However, busy parking lot and the place is packed during prime time lunch hour. Other than that, they have an assortment of counters: pizza, deli, sushi, bakery, salad bar. The candy and desserts all looked so tempting

  8. So last night it was all about the pick up food. G was busy preparing for class and I was working late. Although Kitchen Kabaret is on the pricey side for my budget it was just what the doctor ordered when it came for good food that you could heat up fast. I know when I come thru the door late that G has waited for me to eat, so the man is HUNGRY!

The Kitchen Kabaret has a very large deli selection which is far from your typical deli. Everything from Asian inspired to Italian staples are there for the choosing. I picked up some "fancy" chicken in tomato and mushroom sauce which was very easy to heat up. I simply dumped and I do mean dumped the container of chicken and saucy goodness into my skillet, put the top on it and waited ten minutes for the warm up. I could have done the whole microwave thing, but I just try and limit the microwave usage for super quick items. I added some parmesan cheese to the heated chicken and it was scrumptious.

I also picked up the following:

1/2 pound of bean salad – not your ordinary bean salad, this had all sorts of beans and some corn. It was quite lovely with all the colors. Bean salad is usually not on my list of loves, but the colors were just remarkable and I knew G would love it. I did place G's bean salad on top of some endive and it made the plate look like I did something special. I would definitely buy this again and just eat it right out of the container. There was some sort of marinade/dressing which was very flavorful. I am a fan of the bean salad.

1/2 pound of Spanish Rice – This was just for G but I also had some. It was good, but not a lot of umph!, pizazz, ah I have to have that again flavor. No bang up flavors coming from this side. I would probably not get this again.

1/2 pound of Sesame Noodles – The noodles here seem to be thicker than most cold sesame noodles that I have had in the past. The texture was really good and the sauce was fully coated on the noodles. The were delish and G also liked them a lot. He is more a fan of hot noodles and really loved the cold noodles and did not comment about….hey can we heat these up.

So my final bill was right at the $21.00 price point. For the quality of the product and feeding 2 people in New York take out food, this was good quality for quantity.

As a side note, the coffee bar here is very good and the baristas are really nice and will fix you anything you like. They will even make suggestions and make concoctions for you to try. I have yet to have any bitter coffee here. Prices are a bit higher than DD coffee, but on point with Starbucks. There is also an area where you can have chopped salads, sushi, pizza or made to order omelets. I did have an omelet this past week and it was awesome but simply no time to write the review.

Happy eating and yelping, just watch your wallet when you come here. It can get pricey.
