  1. From Stracciatella cookies to Oggi Italian magazine Remo's is a taste of Italy in New Hyde Park.

I first came here about a year ago when my sister recommended the salads. I had one and was hooked! A GREAT portion size for the price, fresh, and chock full of delicious ingredients the salads at Remo's are the best.

There's lots more to choose from including sandwiches and pasta. I'll try them one day but every time I go I'm just drawn to those awesome salads : )

  2. You wouldn't look twice at this deli on Jericho turnpike – in fact it looks downright nasty from the outside however it is what he is harboring inside that will make you swoon.

A real Italian deli (salumeria), they make the most incredible Italian dishes in there.

Service is "gruff" – don't get all fancy and no one will get hurt, but if you go for what they have in the display case, you will be delighted.

I have never had so many different and wonderful goodies from one place.  They made some garlic knots that blew my head off with garlic… mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm  gaarrrrrrrrrrrrrlic.

Everything is fresh and the prices are excellent.

  3. Upon first quick glance–none of the hot dishes jumped out at me and grabbed my attention. I opted for the cold Italian Combo hero. "Dry extra oregano, olive oil–no vinegar, no.salt & pepper."

That's exactly what Remo's Deliman delivered to a tee, he was a pro, and he created a 4.5 star beautifully old school, authentic sandwich with 3.0 star quality Boars Head cold cuts, served with 5.0 star service.

The bread was quite wide, like a mooses tounge, the ingredients were laid on thick, packed to both sides of the hero bread. It's a lot of product for $9.50

I'm slightly disappointed in my choice, so my return trip will be swift and I intend on ordering more correctly.

The one downside to this enjoyable lunch experience, where I was genuinely welcomed by staff and owner, was that the Italian visual authenticity did not exactly translate to the meats used to create the cold sandwiches.
