  1. Here's what I love about this place:

-They keep things moving quickly. This is critical on a gorgeous beach day!

    -The service is super friendly!!

-I ordered The #4 which was grilled chicken, spinach, red onion, melted asiago cheese, and honey mustard. The guy who was making my sandwich suggested I put some hot peppers on there; this was an excellent suggestion. My sandwich was soooo delicious.

The subs were a tad bit expensive, but I could tell mine was made with love so I'm willing to let that go. They were also large enough to share if you really wanted to.

I'm not going to subtract a star for this, but I really like when delis give complimentary pickles on the side.

  2. Decent, clean, and efficient deli on the main drag in Long Beach, central to both the LIRR Long Beach Station and the beach itself. It's a decent place to pick up a good roast beef sandwich and a bag of potato chips* for a satiating lunch on the beach.

    * – a.k.a.: Seagull bait.

  3. So new it smells like fresh paint! It's bright and airy, and they have a decent selection of specialty sandwiches.  They're also pretty cheap, and the people working here are quiet friendly.  It's in a great location, right across from the train station so you don't need to waste your money at Starbucks or that little deli inside the train.

I hate when delis make a breakfast wrap, and they don't wrap them tight, so the eggs smush out the bottom….they don't do that here.  Since my cooking gas still doesn't work, perhaps I'll hit these cats up for lunch today too!

  4. I love Brand's Deli.  A huge cold cut hero with a side of chips is one of my favorite meals any time of day.  Every time I order a sandwich on a roll or hero from here, it never disappoints.  They give you exactly what you order and how you order it.  There is always a ton of meat on each sandwich, and the options from the menu seem endless.  They have some fun sandwiches based around hockey names and themes, and the breakfast options are as good as the hot heroes and deli sandwiches from what I've heard.  The location is perfect…it's in the center of town and great for non-locals who are getting off the train on their way to the beach.  It's awesome having a go-to deli right near the house and the beach to order some sandwiches and have a great day in the sun.  It's a plus that they provide catering and delivery services too.  Prices are cheap, but they aren't extremely high either.  Depending on what you get, you most likely won't hurt your wallet too badly.  My usual order consists of different traditional italian meats with lots of lettuce, tomato, mayo.  It's always delicious.  The tuna fish salad is also a staple of mine, and the Brand's tuna tastes great. There are always a lot of people waiting to help you behind the counter, so waiting is never a problem.  The place is kept very clean as well.

  5. This deli is great! It has all the workings of a typical LI deli, but is larger and cleaner than most. The specials are written in chalk on the wall but feel free to snag a menu to see what other pre-made specials are around. Obviously, they'll make you whatever your heart desires if you're a custom sammie kind of guy. My order of turkey with L T and honey mustard was perfect. Lots of meat, not stuffed with weird, pale tomato slices, and some really good honey mustard. Snagged a chicken soup which was solid too. Although it's in a pretty busy area food-wise, Brand's happens to be a great deli and is worth a visit.

    Protip: Eggs until 2pm

  6. – Solid, local deli.
    – Walking distance from the beach.
    – Much cleaner/nicer than the average deli.
    – Sandwiches are big and good for sharing!
    – The gentleman helping us was so welcoming and pleasant.

I had the "Big M" – grilled chicken, prosciutto, mozzarella, balsamic vinaigrette, red peppers ($10.86). So good and so worth it. The hero was huge but not overwhelming or falling apart or all over the place. They give you a decent, normal amount of meat unlike some delis that go overboard and then charge you an arm and a leg.

    I would recommend.

  7. Long Beach is an expensive area. Band's Deli while not cheap, is a great value given the location. Located only a few blocks from the beach and in the heart of shops and other restaurants.

The first thing you will notice is the extensive and creative menu. This goes well beyond a standard deli. As and example I was torn between the The Hammer – hot roast beef on garlic bread, melted mozzarella  & gravy or The Messiah – hot roast pork on garlic bread, melted mozzarella, gravy & duck sauce. I chose the Messiah at $9.25. It was a great choice. Not something to be eaten while on the move I found a spot next to the window and took a bite. First it was hot, second it was delicious. The gravy and duck sauce were perfect with the pork. The bread likewise. Messy and over stuffed this was a damn good sub. BTW – The gravy would be great over some fries. You will not leave hungry.

Service was super friendly, the place was very clean. Two things to keep in mind, there is no restroom for customers and $15 minimum charge on credit cards. Due to this I would give 3.5 stars, so I have to round up to 4. My advice hit the restroom before you come and bring cash if you're alone. Enjoy Brand's Deli, it's worth it.
