I think I may have found a new little gem of a place in Newark…ok, I didn't find it-a coworker brought me there. Either way, this place is great!
We had time to eat in So I ordered the chicken platter with rice and beans and a side salad. This very simple meal was simply delicious. Salad was your basic tossed salad that I hammered and the meal came out right as I finished up. I was totally amazed at the flavor of beans and rice – I don't know what they use, but it was quite yummy. The chicken?!?! Wow…same.deal, I didn't ask what kind of seasoning they used but I will next time I'm there.
The place looks tiny from the outside, but it's actually pretty spacious inside. Since this IS the Ironbound part of Newark parking sucks, but that's the only negative about this place. I holding one star in reserve until I try one of their sandwiches…but I have a feeling I'll be bumping it up soon enough.
