Delish breakfast especially the chocolate chip pancakes.
Aweful coffee
CHeap cappuccinos
Horrible lunch! -had salad bar along with buffalo chicken wrap-salad bar included old looking veggies- nothing was fresh.
The buffalo chicken was just aweful!!! The chicken pieces did not taste nor seem like real chicken. It included pasty like cheese, wrap was super dry and again… Not tasty at all!
Fries were just OK.
Again… DELISH pancakes
Aweful lunch!!!
Waitress gets 1 star. Rest of the place ZERO stars. Food was less than poor. Chicken sandwich was lacking chicken. Cheese is sparingly used and the did not bring onion rings that were listed as an included side. When asked they brought 4 tiny rings. Everything was greasy and tasted horrible.
Water was okay. The End.
After a late night out, my friend and I were driving around looking for a diner that was open 24/7. Somehow, we stumbled upon this place.
At first, it looked like a good place because even at 3:30am it was pretty busy.
Once inside, we were seated right away.
Inside in general is pretty big.
Have both booths and tables.
The menu was big but not as big compared to other diners in the area. Idk I actually liked it because it made finding something to eat much easier.
To eat, of course I ordered a French Onion Soup (shocker).
I also did something very risky. I felt bold. I went for it–the chicken shrimp quesadilla.
My friend was not as daring at I was and he ordered a Gyro.
My French onion came out first. It didn't look too appealing. The cheese on it was good but there was definitely not enough on there. Literally, it was a thin layer. In my eyes, it was just wrong. Also it was overly watery and salty.
And then came our actual food. The chicken inside my quesadilla was good but there was pretty much 2 SMALL pieces in each portion…And the shrimp was just super cheap with no flavor–and there was a ton of it. Practically a shrimp quesadilla. Another sad part, it lacked cheese.
Was there a cheese shortage tonight or something because writing this review made me realize that both of my cheese meals had no cheese! Super weird.
The guacamole was also horrible but the salsa and sour cream was decent. In general though, no Bueno, no Bueno at all. If you go there, please do not be an idiot like me and order this, just don't do it. You have been warned.
That's the last time I take a risk like that at a diner.
On the up side, my meal did come with some very delicious French Fries and I enjoyed every single bite of those scrumptious things.
My friend said his gyro was alright.
Bathrooms were also pretty darn dirty.
But the service was good and hey, at the end of the day it's a place to go that's open 24/7. Because of the fries and this is why I even opted to give this place at least two stars.
"Meh, I've experienced (much) better" is absolutely accurate.
Just a note- they have happy face cookies. I didn't get one but just thought you all would like to know.
I thought it was an ok diner. It sits on route 4. It was a very large diner with a lot of parking space. Inside was so large that I thought this place will never be filled.
We ordered coffee and pink lemonade, which seems like a total store-bought. My wife ordered turkey sandwich and I ordered greek omellet with sausage added to it. My wife thought the sandwich was not salty enough (which we acutally prefer but a lot of other customers wouldn't), and my greek omellet had very little feta cheese, which should have been the main ingredient of greek anything.
We liked the ambience of this place. It gives you a feeling of this country a long time ago. Service was adequate at least for us. Not a bad place to sit down for a slow saturday brunch even though the expectation for the food should be somewhat low.
I hope I never wind up here again.
Ended up here after a night out in the city. The routine diner thing after drinking and dancing all night long is usually one to look forward to. This place is an embarrassment to our lovely state of jersey that prides itself on diners galore. Get out of here.
I ordered 2 things: a shrimp quesadilla and, duh, disco fries
Disco fries. Awesome. Thank God.
The shrimp in my quesadilla though was not cooked. My sister was like well ew, why would you get fish at a diner. Well, because there are a ton of diners that serve some really great food. Also, I expected them to cook some frozen shrimp… I don't think that's hard. It's not like I ordered a salmon entree or anything. I didn't eat it obviously. The shrimp were translucent, and I've been getting better at listening to my instincts.
2 of 4 of us have been deathly ill with stomach pains and sweating profusely since then. I hope there is a bug going around, which I'm told there is, and that they have't gotten anything from the food here. I'm fine so I'm glad I didn't eat it either way.
I have my go-to diner spots. This won't be one of them.
OK diner, good for a group meet-up. We were part of the huge group and the waitress was stellar. She really kept things going. I prefer the other Coach House but this was good for the group, and my tilapia was good. My date had liver and onions but said the onions weren't onions, they were fennel. LOL. Odd mistake but he liked it so he won't complain.
This is a frequent lunch stop for us during the week at the office. I'll say they usually have a pretty busy buzz of people and the staff knows how to manage the crowd.
I always order off of the weekday lunch special menu because these options come with soup or salad bar and a dessert to have there or to bring with you. The portions are generous and the value is there.
I gave this place only two stars because the inside of the restaurant is pretty grimy, there have been occasions where we have had to wait a very very long time for our lunch, they do not remind you that you may take the dessert that came with your meal home and the food presentation is sometimes sloppy as if it were rushed. I'll say that this is far from my favorite diner but it serves it purpose, I would like it much better if the consistency in service were there.
Coach House is probably older than me. The food is still just as good, especially late at night. One of the very few diners open late.
