  1. Bumping this up to a 4 – great experience here tonight.

BLD isn't large, but it's clean and has an inviting color scheme. I decided to go with a salad tonight and chose the "5 Shades of Green" – which was a chopped salad containing granny smith apples, avocado, pistachios, golden raisins, cucumber, and gorgonzola. The salad was dressed nicely and served with four pita slices. Overall very tasty – and I commend the BLD for being innovative with their salads, all the others on the menu sounded equally as good.

I'll definitely be back; the staff was friendly and the food was very good – a win-win!

  2. I was in the New Rochelle area for a wedding.  We ended up at BLD (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner) diner for a late Sunday night dinner.

I got the Eggs and Potatoes.  What better way than to actually have Breakfast for Dinner?  I also picked off other folk's plates.

My faves?  Potatoes, Regular Fries, and Waffle Fries.  They were crispy and not greasy.  I'm pretty sure BLD's specialty is in potatoes and any variations.

    YUM!  ENJOY!!

  3. No trip to suburbia from the city would be complete without a diner visit! Came here on a Sunday morning, and managed to get seated right away! (When we were leaving, there was a bit of a wait) I ordered the texas breakfast sandwich. It was a huge portion and came with some very crispy potatoes.

The food was good, not great, and service wasn't horrible. Nothing spectacular, but it fulfilled my diner craving for the time.

  4. I can see why this place gets crowded! We came for brunch at around 10 and by the time we left there was a wait.  Get here early! Eggs benedict were perfect and the potatoes were super crispy and salty (how I want my potatoes to be!).  A friend got the Texas breakfast panini which was also good, although we didn't see the Texas connection.  Coffee was good, pretty standard diner coffee.  BLD is open 24/7 and it's a great diner with much better food than most diners around.  It looks like an old fashioned classic diner.  Great comfort diner, I'll be back!

  5. Really, this IS as good as it gets for an actual diner.  I don't 'do' diners but for breakfasts and even then, they're sometimes sketchy.  Walking into BLD, you see that they respect the art of food prep and customer service.  The servers are up to date and out of those horrible penguin outfits.  Instead, they sport crisp, black chef jackets with the BLD logo on the lapels.  Even the runners are streamlined, wearing black tees.

We didn't have to wait long for a seat and the staff was very accommodating when we asked for a booth.  I had the Egg White Omelet and you're allowed to choose FOUR additional items to add to the omelet.  I went for spinach, onions, gruyere, cheddar and broccoli.  It came with the BEST Breakfast Potatoes I have EVER eaten!  The veggies were fresh and the price is great.  I also opted for a side of the Chicken Apple Sausage which tasted really good at first but after a while, I didn't care for them too much.  It was probably because of the size and taste.  They were pretty big and they give you three of them.  Hubby had a rather large Breakfast Panini which also came with those yummy potatoes.

The coffee kept flowing and the orange juice is freshly squeezed.  Believe me; they have a machine that you'll see them constantly dumping fresh oranges into.  Awesome!

We enjoyed BLD and were really happy because we just stumbled upon it while searching for a decent spot to dine.  Will definitely make a return visit.

  6. So excited they finally got a facelift on the inside… the food is always good and honestly love the new menu change. Went on a sunday had a 15 minute wait and really enjoyed the wings and my blt wrap. I will be stopping here again

  7. Now that's what I'm talkin' bout!!! This is one of the better diner experiences that I've had in awhile. Stopped in on a Sunday eve around 7 pm. No crowds… yay!! The service was excellent! The food was really really good! The coffee was awesome! Even the prices weren't bad for the most part. My one very minor complaint is the price difference between the chicken souvlaki sandwich versus the chicken souvlaki platter. The sandwich was $9.50 & the platter $16.00. I got the platter which consisted of a greek salad. The salad came on the plate with the chicken skewers & pita bread. I felt it wasn't THAT big of a salad that the price should've jumped up by $6.50. That's really about all though. Food quality was great for a diner! Nice atmosphere too.
I'm definitely going back again! Gonna try some breakfast next time 🙂

  8. Came here on a Sunday around 10:00 am. My friends and I wanted to do as the locals do as we were coming from out of town. I think there is a certain nostalgia that comes from going to a diner. Reminded us of our teenage days.

I ordered the eggs benedict, it was a bit overcooked, but I think in line with my expectations. Portions were very big, so I was stuffed to the max. Bottomless coffee let my friends and I get caffeine happy. Staff were patient and nice, and service was efficient.

    They have fresh orange juice!
